Three nation tournament played in league format between Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran. Following the Iranian club Malavan's fifth-place finish in the inaugural 1973–74 Takht Jamshid Cup, where it was the highest-placed club from outside Tehran, the Iranian Football Federation selected the Malavan squad to represent Iran at the 1974 RCD Cup, in recognition of the club's performance during its debut national league campaign.جلال طالبی ( Jalal Talebi ) https://takhtejamshidcup.com/index.php?Itemid=944&id=78&limitstart=940&option=com_content&view=category 2026-08-07 takhtejamshidcup.com The team was managed officially by Iran national coach Danny McLennan, with Bahman Salehnia serving as captain and player.2013-01-26 صالح نیا: بگذارید خودشان مدیریت کنند، من کاری به ملوان ندارم https://www.isna.ir/news/91110704170/%D8%B5%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD-%D9%86%DB%8C%D8%A7-%D8%A8%DA%AF%D8%B0%D8%A7%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%AF-%D8%AE%D9%88%D8%AF%D8%B4%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%85%D8%AF%DB%8C%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%AA-%DA%A9%D9%86%D9%86%D8%AF-%D9%85%D9%86-%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%86%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%85 2025-04-22 ایسنا fa صالح نيا در ادامه با مثال زدن ترکيه منظور خود را واضح تر بيان کرد و گفت: تيم ملوان در سال 1352 به عنوان نماينده ايران در جام عمران منطقه‌اي با حضور تيم ملي پاکستان و ترکيه حضور يافت و ما موفق به برد پاکستان شديم و تا دقيقه 86 هم با ترکيه مساوي کرده بوديم و اين همه فوتبال ترکيه آن روزها بود. Salehnia continued by giving the example of Turkey and explained his meaning more clearly and said: In 1973, the Malavan team participated as a representative of Iran in the regional Imran Cup with the participation of the national teams of Pakistan and Turkey, and we managed to win over Pakistan and had tied with Turkey by the 86th minute, and that was all the Turkish football of those days. In January 1973, Malavan participated as Iran's representative in the fifth edition of the Regional Civil Engineering Cup. Before that, the national team had always participated in the competition, but this time the federation sent Salehnia and his students to the tournament, and Malwan became the runner-up in the competition.
