In their first season of competitive soccer, the Kickers played in the United States Interregional Soccer League, which at the time served as the third division of the American soccer pyramid. The Kickers played their first season on the campus of the University of Richmond at the site of the former East Market Stadium. In the inaugural season the Kickers played in the Atlantic Division, where they finished in fourth place in the division, qualifying for the play-in round of the playoffs. Richmond defeated the Charleston Battery, who would eventually become bitter rivals with the team, as they were some of the few surviving clubs from the early 90s, in the play-in round, before eventually losing to the Greensboro Dynamo in the divisional playoff semifinals.Litterer David United Soccer Leagues Statistical History, Part 1 (1986-1994) http://homepages.sover.net/~spectrum/usl2.html The American Soccer History Archives Homepages.Sover.net April 18, 2013 https://web.archive.org/web/20130713140936/http://homepages.sover.net/~spectrum/usl2.html July 13, 2013 dead Squad Roster The following players were part of the 1993 squad.Kruszewski Jackie The Richmond Kickers mark their 25th season with big aspirations and a bold new plan for City Stadium. https://www.styleweekly.com/richmond/the-most-underrated-sports-team-in-richmond/Content?oid=2727289 styleweekly.com Style Weekly May 13, 2018 March 14, 2017Nunez Anthony 1993 Richmond Kickers Soccer Set https://oddballcardcollector.blogspot.com/2015/03/1993-richmond-kickers-soccer-set.html The Oddball Card Collector Blogger March 21, 2015 1 SCO Liam Behrens DF 2 ENG Tony Blunt DF 3 USA Matt Borgard MF 4 USA Scott Budnick GK 5 USA Patrick Burke MF 6 USA Karlton Byrd DF 7 NIR Leigh Cowlishaw FW 8 USA Scott Davis DF 9 USA John Dugan FW 10 USA Eric Dumbleton FW 11 USA Mike Huwiler MF 12 USA Cookie Ketcham MF 13 USA Ted Gillen DF 14 USA Joe O'Carroll GK 15 USA Sean Phillips DF 16 USA Duncan Satchell DF 17 USA Khary Stockton FW 19 USA Rob Ukrop FW 20 USA Richie Williams MF Team management The following individuals were part of the club's management for the 1993 season.
