Rules are different from main first team football in that n the group stage matches, each half lasts 40 minutes, before reverting to the standard 45 minutes for the knockout stages. The tournament features an unconventional points system through the group stages, which the tournament organisers state is "designed to encourage attacking football". Each winning side gets the standard three points for a win. Losing teams receive one point if they lose without scoring, and two if they lose but score. There are no draws; if teams are all square at full-time the game goes straight to a penalty shootout to determine the winner. 20 July 2010 19:30 BST Accrington Stanley 1–2 Blackpool Ryan 10 Ormerod 4Southern 48 Vicarage Field, Great Torrington L 21 July 2010 20:00 BST Bideford 2–5 Accrington Stanley Densham Downing Putterill Jukes McConville Parkinson The Sports Ground, Bideford W Group 1 2010 Group 1 ACC League Two 2010–11 Football League Two 7 August 2010 15:00 BST 1 0–0 Report Accrington Stanley Aldershot Town Crown Ground Accrington 1,624 D 14 August 2010 15:00 BST 2 0–0 Report Northampton Town Accrington Stanley Sixfields Stadium Northampton 4,042 D 21 August 2010 15:00 BST 3 3–0 Report Accrington Stanley McConville 29 38 72 Macclesfield Town Crown Ground Accrington 1,371 W 28 August 2010 15:00 BST 4 0–0 Report Oxford United Accrington Stanley Kassam Stadium Oxford 6,428 D 4 September 2010 15:00 BST 5 1–1 Report Accrington Stanley Boulding 90 Wycombe Wanderers Bloomfield 67 Crown Ground Accrington 1,610 D 11 September 2010 15:00 BST 6 0–0 Report Torquay United Accrington Stanley Plainmoor Torquay 2,598 D 17 September 2010 19:45 BST 7 3–0 Report Accrington Stanley McConville 16 Gornell 19 60 Lincoln City Kerr 0 71 Crown Ground Accrington 1,844 W 25 September 2010 15:00 BST 8 2–0 Report Port Vale M.Richards 31 Dodds 81 Accrington Stanley Vale Park Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent 5,777 L 28 September 2010 19:45 BST 9 2–2 Report Stockport County Fisher 78 Donnelly 84 Accrington Stanley Procter 48 Gornell 76 Edgeley Park Stockport 3,584 D 2 October 2010 15:00 BST 10 7–4 Report Accrington Stanley McConville 13 Parkinson 34 Barnett 43 Edwards 58 pen. 62 pen.
