While a temporary rink was built just above the dam on the Red Cedar River, Chester Brewer made a call for students to try out for the team and the roster was mostly populated by men from the upper peninsula and Canada. Neither a coach nor captain was elected for the season and the team had to rely on their own wits and experience in their abbreviated schedule.https://projects.kora.matrix.msu.edu/files/162-565-6270/19220120sm.pdf Hockey Team Busy The MAC Record January 20, 1922 September 11, 2023 MAC had decent results in the first two games, but they were blown out in their rematches with Michigan and Notre Dame.
