The team had no nickname in 1917, with the "Aggie" term being introduced in 1922. The football season was shortened in 1917 due to the onset of World War I. The school did not field a team in 1918. The 1917 team was led by Jack Glascock in his only season as head coach for the school. They played home games in Davis, California. According to the UC Davis media guide, University Farm finished with a 1–2 and was outscored by their opponents 68 to 34 for the season.http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ucda/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2015-16/misc_non_event/15FBGuide.pdf#page=50 UC Davis Football 2015: Team Information Guide April 22, 2017 March 8, 2016 https://web.archive.org/web/20160308182711/http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ucda/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2015-16/misc_non_event/15FBGuide.pdf#page=50 dead However, the Nevada Wolf Pack football media guide does not show a game between the two teams in 1917,http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/unv/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2015-16/misc_non_event/FB2015MG.pdf#page=126 126 Nevada Information Guide February 14, 2017 March 14, 2016 https://web.archive.org/web/20160314090954/http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/unv/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2015-16/misc_non_event/FB2015MG.pdf#page=126 dead although one was scheduled to be played on October 1.Football Season Starts Saturday Reno Gazette-Journal Reno, Nevada September 19, 1917 8 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/17938152/nevada_schedule_1917/ Newspapers.com March 2, 2018 Schedule October 1? w Nevada 27–7 October 20 l 1917 St. Ignatius Grey Fog St. Ignatius (CA) Davis, CA 7–13 St. Ignatius Beats Davis Farm Eleven By a Close Score San Francisco Chronicle San Francisco, California October 21, 1917 7 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/17907011/st_ignatius_beats_davis_farm_eleven_by/ Newspapers.com March 1, 2018 ? l Preston Industrial SchoolThe Preston School of Industry opened in 1894 to rehabilitate juvenile offenders.
