Lindsay Davenport and Mary Joe Fernandez were the defending champions but they competed with different partners that year, Davenport with Natasha Zvereva and Fernandez with Katrina Adams. Adams and Fernandez lost in the quarterfinals to Sabine Appelmans and Miriam Oremans.
