The two substrates of this enzyme are 1,5-anhydroglucitol and oxidised nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP+). Its products are 1,5-anhydro-D-fructose, reduced NADPH, and a proton.1.1.1.263 Sakuma M, Kametani S, Akanuma H Purification and some properties of a hepatic NADPH-dependent reductase that specifically acts on 1,5-anhydro-D-fructose Journal of Biochemistry 123 1 189–93 January 1998 9504428 10.1093/oxfordjournals.jbchem.a021909 free
This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases, specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol:NADP+ oxidoreductase.
