1984: India's Guilty Secret is a book by Pav Singh published by Kashi Books in 2017. In it Singh includes an account by Man Mohan Bir Singh Talwar and argues that the violence against Sikhs in 1984 was not spontaneous but planned and led by Congress politicians. He criticises the use of the word "riot", saying it downplays the scale and intent of the attacks, which he views as a deliberate genocide.Singh Gary 11 February 2018 A Brutal Corrective https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/a-brutal-corrective/ https://web.archive.org/web/20250725121338/https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/a-brutal-corrective/ 25 July 2025 25 July 2025 Los Angeles Review of BooksCheeran John 23 January 2018 Is 1984 India's guilty secret? https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/Arrackistan/is-1984-indias-guilty-secret/ https://web.archive.org/web/20250725121832/https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/Arrackistan/is-1984-indias-guilty-secret/ 25 July 2025 25 July 2025 The Times of IndiaRiot or genocide? https://www.the-tls.com/politics-by-region/asian-politics/riot-or-genocide https://web.archive.org/web/20250725122205/https://www.the-tls.com/politics-by-region/asian-politics/riot-or-genocide 25 July 2025 25 July 2025 TLS
