It was the eighth Canada Cup event, which became the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 30 teams. These were the same teams that had competed in 1959 but without South Korea and Indonesia and with the addition of Peru and Central Africa. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead won by eight strokes over the English team of Bernard Hunt and Harry Weetman. The individual competition was won by the Belgian Flory Van Donck, who finished two shots ahead of Sam Snead.https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=JHhAAAAAIBAJ&sjid=qJsMAAAAIBAJ&pg=1961%2C7860668 Canada Cup event ends at Portmarnock The Glasgow Herald Cyril Horne 27 June 1960 1, 4 Teams Country Players Fidel de Luca and Leopoldo Ruiz Kel Nagle and Peter Thomson Arthur Devulder and Flory Van Donck BRA 1960 José Maria Gonzalez and Mário Gonzalez CAN 1957 Al Balding and Stan Leonard Central Africa Wally Hill and James Parkinson Luciano Calderon and Enrique Orellana TWN China Chen Ching-Po and Hsieh Yung-yo Alfonso Bohórquez and Miguel Sala Henning Kristensen and Carl Paulsen EGY 1958 Cherif El-Sayed Cherif and Mohamed Said Moussa Bernard Hunt and Harry Weetman Jean Garaïalde and François Saubaber Norman Drew and Christy O'Connor Snr Alfonso Angelini and Ovidio Bolognesi JPN 1947 Koichi Ono and Sukemasa Shimamura MEX 1934 Roberto De Vicenzo and José González Gerard de Wit and Piet Witte Frank Buckler and Ernie Southerden Eugenio Dunezat and Alex Tibbles PHL 1936 Ben Arda and Larry Montes Henrique Paulino and Fernando Pina Eric Brown and John Panton ZAF 1928 Bobby Locke and Gary Player ESP 1945 Ángel Miguel and Sebastián Miguel Åke Bergquist and Arne Werkell Jacky Bonvin and Otto Schoepfer USA 1959 Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead Dai Rees and Dave Thomas Hans Bessner and Kaspar Marx Source Scores Team Place Country Score To par1 USA 1959 140-139-142-144=565 −112 148-143-138-144=573 −33 149-137-142-146=574 −24 143-139-149-144=575 −15 ZAF 1928 137-147-140-154=578 +26 143-146-142-149=580 +47 141-146-147-148=582 +68 145-145-148-146=584 +8T9 144-143-151-149=587 +11ESP 1945 151-147-144-145=58711 CAN 1957 146-144-151-147=588 +1212 MEX 1934 149-148-147-147=591 +1513 153-151-143-145=592 +1614 EGY 1958 150-151-146-148=595 +1915 147-152-148-150=597 +2116 145-150-147-157=599 +2317 JPN 1947 149-148-150-153=600 +2418 151-146-149-158=604 +2819 PHL 1936 149-154-156-146=605 +29T20 BRA 1960 157-148-157-144=606 +30TWN China 150-155-156-145=60622 152-152-149-154=607 +3123 156-144-152-156=608 +32T24 155-152-151-153=611 +35 150-154-156-151=61126 Central Africa 154-154-154-150=612 +3627 156-151-155-151=613 +3728 159-153-153-152=617 +4129 160-157-152-163=632 +5630 160-166-163-157=646 +70 Source International Trophy Place Player Country Score To par1 Flory Van Donck 68-71-70-70=279 −92 Sam Snead USA 1959 71-68-67-75=281 −7T3 Arnold Palmer USA 1959 69-71-75-69=284 −4Harry Weetman 75-70-68-71=284T5 Eric Brown 70-72-71-73=286 −2Christy O'Connor Snr 73-68-73-72=286Peter Thomson 73-69-69-75=2868 Roberto De Vicenzo MEX 1934 73-70-72-72=287 −1T9 Gerard de Wit 74-69-73-72=288 EMário Gonzalez BRA 1960 74-70-74-70=288Kel Nagle 76-68-73-71=288 Source References 53.407 N 6.124 W type:event title Category:World Cup (men's golf) Category:Golf tournaments in the Republic of Ireland Category:Golf in County Dublin Canada Cup Canada Cup Canada Cup
