The team was coached by Steve Yoder, in his eighth season with Wisconsin. The Badgers finished 14–17, 4–14 in Big Ten play to finish in eighth place. Offseason Yoder's top assistant Brad McNulty, suspended without pay since August 1, 1989, was fired just prior to his eighth season at Wisconsin for billing personal phone calls to the university from January 1988 to May 1989. McNulty made 51 calls to Nevada hotel casinos, which cost the university over $2,000 and resulted in a felony charge.Tribune Chicago September 23, 1989 Tennis: Top-seeded Michael Chang had no trouble... https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1989-09-23-8901150827-story.html 2020-06-12 chicagotribune.com en-USLueders Bill 2007-06-21 A lawyer in the limelight https://isthmus.com/isthmus/article.php%3Farticle%3D7708 2020-06-12 Isthmus Madison, Wisconsin en-us Roster 1989 Wisconsin Badgers y G 4 Larry Hisle, Jr. n 6 4 185 FR Mequon, WI G 5 Jason Johnsen n 6 3 185 FR New Hope, MN yes G 10 Billy Douglass n 6 5 185 SO Lake Forest, IL y G 12 Brian Good n 6 1 180 SO Rossville, IN G 20 Byron Robinson n 6 5 185 JR Springfield, IL y Willie Simms 23 F/G 6 5 185 JR Pontiac, MI Carlton McGee 32 F 6 7 200 FR Milwaukee, WI yes John Ellenson 40 F 6 7 210 JR y Menomonie, WILouis Ely F 33 6 7 180 FR Harvey, IL I Damon Harrell 41 F 6 8 210 FR Madison, WI Patrick Tompkins 43 F 6 6 240 JR Waukegan, IL Tim Locum 44 G 6 4 175 JR Flora, IL C Danny Jones basketball y 50 F 6 6 240 SR Rockford, IL C Grant Johnson 52 C 7 0 230 FR Plymouth, MN yes Kurt Portmann 53 F/C 6 11 225 SR Sheboygan, WI C Steve Yoder (Illinois Wesleyan) * Ray McCallum (Ball State) Jonathan Williams (Ball State) Charles Schramm (Northern Illinois) https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/wisconsin/1990.html 1989-90 Wisconsin Badgers Roster and Stats June 15, 2019 http://images.library.wisc.edu/UW/EFacs/UWAthletics/Basketball/BBall1989/reference/uw.bball1989.i0001.pdf 1989-90 Wisconsin Basketball Media Guide University of Wisconsin Athletic Dept.
