The match is usually contested by the winners of the Premier League and the Egypt Cup, but since Al Ahly won the double (2005–06 Egyptian Premier League and 2005–06 Egypt Cup), ENPPI qualified instead of Zamalek (second-placed in the league and cup), who was prevented from playing the match by decision of the football association. The match was played at the Cairo International Stadium. Al Ahly defended the trophy they won in the previous edition and defeated ENPPI 1–0. https://m.arabia.eurosport.com/article/كرة-القدم/Egyptian-Super-Cup/الأهلي-يكرر-سيناريو-2005-2006-حال-تتويجه-بالسوبر الأهلي يكرر سيناريو 2005-2006 حال تتويجه بالسوبر EuroSport Eurosport.com https://www.aljazeera.net/sport/2006/7/24/الأهلي-يفوز-بكأس-السوبر-المصرية-لكرة الأهلي يفوز بكأس السوبر المصرية لكرة القدم Al Jazeera Aljazeera.net Details 2006 7 23 y Al Ahly ENPPI 1–0 Mohamed Aboutrika 90+1 April 2025 Cairo International Stadium, Cairo Abdel Fatah (Egypt) GK 1EGY Essam El HadaryCB 26EGY Wael GomaaCB 7EGY Shady MohamedCB 5EGY Ahmad El-Sayed 88LWB 11EGY Tarek El-Said 46CM 25EGY Hossam Ashour 50CM 20EGY Mohamed Shawky RWB2EGY Islam El-Shater AM 22EGY Mohamed AboutrikaFW 9EGY Emad Moteab FW 18 EGY Osama Hosny Substitutes:LB29EGY Ahmed Shedid Qenawi 46DM 14 EGY Hassan Mostafa 50CB 30 EGY Mohamed Sedik 88Manager:POR Manuel José GK 16EGY Mostafa KamalCB 13MOZ Mano CB EGY Amr Fahim CBEGY Reda Gomaa RWB EGY Reda Shehata CM EGY Ibrahim El-ShayebCM EGY Samir SabryCMEGY Mohamed Thabet LWB EGY Abdallah Ragab 60FW EGY Ahmed Abd El-Zaher 55FW 17EGY Magdy Abd El Aatey Substitutes:FW EGY Reda Metwalli 55LB EGY Fouad Salama 60Manager:GER Rainer Zobel Match rules 90 minutes. 30 minutes of extra time if necessary.
