Elections to Moray District Council were held on 7 May 1992, on the same day as the other Scottish local government elections. This was the sixth and final election to the district council following the implementation of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.
The election used the 18 wards created by the Initial Statutory Reviews of Electoral Arrangements in 1980. Each ward elected one councillor using first-past-the-post voting.Initial Statutory Reviews of Electoral Arrangements https://webarchive.nrscotland.gov.uk/public/20190111180218/http://www.lgbc-scotland.gov.uk/reports/eareports1st.asp 28 August 2026 Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland
