1993 AFL reserves season

74th season of the AFL reserve grade competition AFLR 1993 27 March – 25 September 12 12 1992 1994 The 1993 AFL reserves season, also known as the 1993 VSFL season, was the 74th season of the AFL reserve grade competition, the Australian rules football competition operating as the second-tier competition to the Australian Football League (AFL).At the end of the 1991 season, the Victorian State Football League (VSFL) was established to take over administration of football in Victoria from the AFL, which was now becoming preoccupied with administration of the game nationally. This saw the reserves competition adopt the "VSFL" name, although both "AFL reserves" and "VSFL" are used to refer to the competition from 1992 until 1999.1994 VSFL (AFL Reserves) GF scores https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-age-1994-vsfl-afl-reserves-gf-scor/33722025/ newspapers.com The Age https://web.archive.org/web/20241004105136/https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-age-1994-vsfl-afl-reserves-gf-scor/33722025/ 4 October 2024 4 October 2024 58 2 October 1994The Age Melbourne, VIC North to push for new jumpers 21 March 1995 Stephen Linnell 42The good ol’ Victorian Australian State Football League Association (V.A.S.F.L.A) https://theholybootsfootballemporium.com/tag/vsfl/ theholybootsfootballemporium.com 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20241004105143/https://theholybootsfootballemporium.com/tag/vsfl/ 4 October 2024 27 August 20141993 Reserves https://www.blueseum.org/1993+Reserves Blueseum 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20240425122124/https://www.blueseum.org/1993+Reserves 25 April 20241993 Reserves scores https://www.tigerlandarchive.org/tiki-index.php?page=1993+Reserves Tigerland Archive 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20240304183427/https://www.tigerlandarchive.org/tiki-index.php?page=1993+Reserves 4 March 2024 The premiership was won by for the 12th time after they defeated in the 1993 AFL reserves grand final, held as a curtain-raiser to the 1993 AFL Grand Final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 25 September.Pearce Linda Demons finally hail in premiership flag The Age Fairfax Media Publications Pty Limited 26 September 1993 Melbourne, Victoria 17 (sport) This was Melbourne's last AFL reserves premiership.Club honours https://www.melbournefc.com.au/history/honour-board Melbourne Football Club 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20241004105728/https://www.melbournefc.com.au/history/honour-board 4 October 2024 Prior to the start of the 1993 season, the Brisbane Bears left the AFL reserves.Brisbane Reserves https://australianfootball.com/clubs/stats/brisbane%2Breserves/2555/1992/104/140 Australian Football 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20241004110240/https://australianfootball.com/clubs/stats/brisbane%2Breserves/2555/1992/104/140 4 October 2024 The club had entered the competition just five years prior in 1989 and won a premiership in 1991.Recognising the Bears https://www.lions.com.au/news/715201/recognising-the-bears Brisbane Lions 5 August 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20240805015914/https://www.lions.com.au/news/715201/recognising-the-bears 5 August 2024 7 May 2014 Ladder + Pos Position on ladder Team Pld Games played W Won L Lost D Drawn PF Points for PA Points against PP Percentage points Pts Points Qualification 1 (P) 22 17 5 0 2578 1636 157.58 68 Finals series 2 22 17 5 0 2455 2024 121.29 68 3 22 12 10 0 2222 2061 107.81 48 4 22 11 11 0 2091 1986 105.29 44 5 22 11 11 0 2388 2349 101.66 44 6 22 11 11 0 2151 2284 94.18 44 7 22 10 11 1 2231 1964 113.59 42 8 22 10 12 0 2225 2144 103.78 40 9 22 9 13 0 2092 2238 93.48 36 10 22 9 13 0 2081 2531 82.22 36 11 22 8 14 0 1967 2571 76.51 32 12 22 6 15 1 2055 2748 74.78 26 Source: 1993 AFL Victorian State Football League https://australianfootball.com/seasons/season/afl/138/reserves/104/140/1993 Australian Football 4 October 2024 https://web.archive.org/web/20180909170305/https://australianfootball.com/seasons/season/afl/138/reserves/104/140/1993 9 September 2018 Rules for classification: 1) points; 2) percentage; 3) number of points for.
