The match was surrounded by controversy due to referee Enrique Bertrán's performance, who annulled a goal by a penalty awarded to Athletic Bilbao, alleging that scorer Germán Echevarría had shot before he gave the order to do it. Nevertheless, the penalty was not kicked for a second time, as ruled on the laws of the game. The referee was also criticized for allowing misconduct from both teams. thumb|left|El Molinón Stadium in Gijón, venue for the final Match details 2 May 1920 Barcelona 2–0 https://archive.today/20130103213244/http://www.linguasport.com/futbol/nacional/copa/copa20.htm Report1Report2 Athletic Bilbao Martínez 70Alcántara 80 El Molinón Gijón 10,000 Enrique Bertrán de Lis _fcbarcelona60 _fcbarcelona60h _fcbarcelona60 _2_white_stripes 3D69AA 3D69AA 3D69AA 3d69aa 000000 Barcelona_aljazira1415t _whitestripes3 _aljazira1415t _whitestripe ff0000 000000 000000 Athletic Bilbao GK ESP 1874 Ricardo ZamoraDF ESP 1874 Francisco ComaDF ESP 1874 Ricardo GaliciaMF ESP 1874 José SamitierMF ESP 1874 Agustín SanchoMF ESP 1874 Ramón TorralbaFW ESP 1874 Francisco Vinyals (c)FW ESP 1874 Félix SesúmagaFW ESP 1874 Vicente MartínezFW ESP 1874 Paulino AlcántaraFW ESP 1874 Fernando PlazaManager:ENG Jack Greenwell |valign="top" width="50%"| GK ESP 1874 Juan José AmannDF ESP 1874 Luis HurtadoDF ESP 1874 Domingo AcedoMF ESP 1874 Sabino BilbaoMF ESP 1874 Francisco BelausteMF ESP 1874 Jesús EguiluzFW ESP 1874 Gregorio SenaFW ESP 1874 PichichiFW ESP 1874 José María BelausteFW ESP 1874 José María LacaFW ESP 1874 Germán EchevarríaManager:ENG Billy Barnes Copa del Rey1920 winnersFC BarcelonaFourth title See also Athletic–Barcelona clásico References Association football Spain 1920 Copa Category:FC Barcelona matches Category:Athletic Bilbao matches Category:May 1920 sports events in Europe Category:Sport in Gijón Category:Football in Asturias Category:20th century in Asturias
