The tournament featured national 'A' rugby union teams from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Japan and Argentina. Additionally, four Super Rugby development sides joined the five Pacific sides as core teams for the first time. These Australian teams had previously only been opposition sides for the core teams and were not in contention for the title. The tournament was played in Australia. The teams were split into two pools and a single round robin series was played in each pool, with the top team in each pool playing in the final for the PRC title. Argentina's Pampas XV won the Cup, going through the tournament undefeated. 2 Teams 15em The 5 Pacific core teams: ARG Pampas XV FIJ Fiji Warriors JPN SAM TGA 15em The 4 Australian core teams: Australian Capital Territory ACT XV New South Wales Gen Blue (Watarahs A) Queensland Reds A Western Australia Western Force A 15em Additional Australian opposition: New South Wales NSW Under 20 Queensland Queensland Under 20 Standings Pool A TeamPlayedWonDrawnLostForAgainstDiffBP1BP2Pts Reds A 3 2 0 1 126 55 71 2 1 11 Fiji Warriors 3 2 0 1 154 59 95 2 1 11 Force A 3 2 0 1 114 65 49 2 0 10 Japan 1 3 0 0 3 26 241 -210 0 0 0Updated: 23 March 2014Source: oceaniarugby.com Pool B TeamPlayedWonDrawnLostForAgainstDiffBP1BP2Pts Pampas XV 4 4 0 0 148 83 65 3 0 19 Tonga 1 4 2 0 2 96 115 -19 1 0 9 Gen Blue 4 2 0 2 77 91 -14 0 0 8 Samoa 1 4 1 0 3 82 91 -9 1 2 7ACT A 4 1 0 3 78 101 -23 0 1 5Updated: 23 March 2014 Source: oceaniarugby.com https://web.archive.org/web/20150316195229/http://oceaniarugby.com/tournaments/pacific_rugby_cup/2014/2014__pacific_rugby_cup_points_table.html 2015-03-16 2014 Pacific Rugby Cup Points Table Federation of Oceania Rugby Unions http://www.oceaniarugby.com/tournaments/pacific_rugby_cup/2014/2014__pacific_rugby_cup_points_table.html dead https://web.archive.org/web/20150316195229/http://oceaniarugby.com/tournaments/pacific_rugby_cup/2014/2014__pacific_rugby_cup_points_table.html 16 March 2015 28 January 2015 2.2emCompetition rules Points breakdown:4 points for a win2 points for a draw1 bonus point for a loss by seven points or less1 bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match Classification:Teams standings are calculated as follows:Most log points accumulated from all matchesMost log points accumulated in matches between tied teamsHighest difference between points scored for and against accumulated from all matchesMost points scored accumulated from all matches Pool matches Round 1 21 February 2014 5:00pm Force A 29–23 Reds A Aquinas College, Perth 23 February 2014 1:40pm Gen Blue (NSW) 23–17 ACT A Allianz Stadium, Sydney Argentina, Fiji, JPN 1 Japan, Samoa 1 Samoa, Tonga 1 Tonga Round 2 28 February 2014 4:00pm Gen Blue (NSW) 17–14 Samoa 1 TG Millner Field, Sydney 1 March 2014 4:40pm Force A 61–6 Japan 1 2 March 2014 3:00pm Reds A 22–19 Fiji Warriors Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane 2 March 2014 4:00pm ACT A 23–32 Pampas XV Tonga 1 Tonga Round 3 4 March 2014 3:30pm Samoa 1 27–18 Tonga 1 TG Millner Field, Sydney 7 March 2014 3:00pm Gen Blue (NSW) 16–31 Pampas XV David Phillips Field, Sydney 7 March 2014 4:20pm Reds A 81–7 Japan 1 Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Fiji, ACT A, Western Force A Round 4 9 March 2014 4:00pm ACT A 20–29 Tonga 1 Royal Military College, Canberra 10 March 2014 4:00pm Force A 24–36 Fiji Warriors Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane Argentina, JPN 1 Japan, Samoa 1 Samoa, Gen Blue, Reds A Round 5 11 March 2014 4:00pm Pampas XV 38–24 Samoa 1 David Phillips Field, Sydney 13 March 2014 4:00pm Gen Blue (NSW) 21–29 Tonga 1 TG Millner Field, Sydney Unofficial match Queensland Under 20 40–26 Japan 1 Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane Unofficial match NSW Under 20 24–49 Fiji Warriors ACT A, Reds A, Western Force A Round 6 15 March 2014 5:10pm ACT A 18–17 Samoa 1 GIO Stadium, Canberra 18 March 2014 3:00pm Japan 1 13–99 Fiji Warriors Bond University, Gold Coast 19 March 2014 4:00pm Pampas XV 47–20 Tonga 1 Royal Military College, Canberra Gen Blue, Reds A, Western Force A Finals 3rd place play-off collapsible expanded 23 March 2014 13:00 Fiji Warriors 54–21 Tonga 1 TG Millner Field, Sydney Final collapsible expanded 23 March 2014 15:00 Reds A 21–36 Pampas XV TG Millner Field, Sydney References 2014 2014 Pacific Rugby Cup Fixtures and Results Federation of Oceania Rugby Unions http://www.oceaniarugby.com/tournaments/pacific_rugby_cup/2014/2014__pacific_rugby_cup_fixtures_and_results.html dead https://web.archive.org/web/20150228123242/http://oceaniarugby.com/tournaments/pacific_rugby_cup/2014/2014__pacific_rugby_cup_fixtures_and_results.html 2015-02-28 2015-01-28 23 March 2014 Kiap Pacific Rugby Cup Final: Reds A v Pampas XV Green and Gold Rugby 6 February 2014 http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/pacific-rugby-cup-final-reds-a-v-pampas-xv live https://web.archive.org/web/20141203104234/http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/pacific-rugby-cup-final-reds-a-v-pampas-xv/ 3 December 2014 External links FORU website https://web.archive.org/web/20110201100656/http://oceaniarugby.com/ 2011-02-01 expanded Category:World Rugby Pacific Challenge Category:2014 rugby union tournaments for national teams Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Rugby Cup Pacific Category:International rugby union competitions hosted by Australia Category:March 2014 sports events in Australia Category:February 2014 sports events in Australia Category:2014 in Oceanian international sport
