Lens returned to Ligue 1 after a three-year span in the second division. After their promotion however Lens were considered ineligible for their promotion due to a €10 million payment from shareholder Hafiz Mammadov missing in the accounts. This meant that despite their successes in the previous season, Lens would return to Ligue 2 no matter where they finished in the league. Despite their automatic demotion, the club happened to finish the season in 20th which nevertheless warranted relegation. The club's stadium Stade Bollaert-Delelis was under renovation for the entirety of the season, ahead of the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament in France. Lens instead played the majority of their matches at Stade de la Licorne in Amiens and played four matches against higher-profile league teams at the French national stadium Stade de France in Saint-Denis. Hence, the squad list includes only the principal nationality of each player; several non-European players on the squad have dual citizenship with an EU country. Also, players from the ACP countries—countries in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific that are signatories to the Cotonou Agreement—are not counted against non-EU quotas due to the Kolpak ruling. 1 FRA GK Rudy Riou 3 FRA DF Dimitri Cavaré (on loan from Stade Rennes) 4 MAR DF Ahmed Kantari 5 MRT DF Abdoul Ba 6 FRA MF Jérôme Lemoigne Captain 7 FRA FW Yoann Touzghar 8 FRA FW Aristote Madiani 9 FRA FW Adamo Coulibaly 11 ARG FW Pablo Chavarria 14 SEN FW Deme N'Diaye 15 FRA DF Patrick Fradj 18 FRA MF Pierrick Valdivia 19 BEL FW Baptiste Guillaume 20 MAD MF Lalaina Nomenjanahary 21 MAR MF Alharbi El Jadeyaoui 22 FRA DF Loïck Landre 23 FRA MF Wylan Cyprien 24 GUF local DF Ludovic Baal 25 FRA DF Jean-Philippe Gbamin 27 FRA DF Benjamin Boulenger 29 FRA MF Benjamin Bourigeaud 30 FRA GK Samuel Atrous 33 MLI DF Boubacar Sylla 34 FRA FW El Hadji Malick Seck 35 ENG DF Taylor Moore 40 FRA GK Valentin Belon -- FRA DF Quentin Lecoeuche Competitions Ligue 1 2014–15 Ligue 1 League table RCL Results summary 5 4 10 14 24 2 4 13 18 37 13 June 2015 Competitive matches June 2015 Results by round table b Round Ground A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/H/A/H/A/H/A/H/A/H Result L/L/W/W/D/L/L/D/L/L/W/L/L/L/W/L/D/D/W/L/L/D/D/D/L/L/L/L/W/L/L/D/L/L/L/L/L/W Position 16/18/15/11/9/13/15/14/18/20/16/17/19/20/18/19/18/19/16/19/19/19/19/19/19/19/19/19/19/19/20/19/20/20/20/20/20/20 Home Away green2 Win yellow2 Draw red2 Loss 1st 2nd 3rd red1 complete Ligue1 June 2015 Matches #CCFFCC Win 1px solid #AAAAAA #FFFFCC Draw 1px solid #AAAAAA #FFCCCC Loss 1px solid #AAAAAA 1 9 August 2014 21:00 CEST (UTC+02:00) Nantes 1–0 Report Lens Bammou 65 Bourigeaud 69 Stade de la Beaujoire Nantes 27,964 Sébastien Desiage L 2 16 August 2014 20:00 CEST (UTC+02:00) Lens 0–1 Report Guingamp Kantari 35Valdivia 50Chavarria 59Lemoigne 79 Dos Santos 62Douniama 90+3 Stade de la Licorne Amiens 9,512 Sébastien Moreira L 3 23 August 2014 14:00 CEST (UTC+02:00) Lyon 0–1 Report Lens Gonalons 30 Nomenjanahary 11 54Landre 43Cyprien 47 Stade de Gerland Lyon 24,636 Lionel Jaffredo W 4 30 August 2014 20:00 CEST (UTC+02:00) Lens 4–2 Report Reims Cyprien 27, 45Chavarria 47, 82Touzghar 61 pen.Coulibaly 87 pen.
