Although Wales had more possession and dominated territorially, they managed to score just two tries, both from kicks. The second, the result of a bad mistake by Springbok full-back Ruan Pienaar, was scored by Colin Charvis; it was his 22nd Test try, a new record for a forward in Test rugby. South Africa made better use of their more limited possession, scoring five tries, including one by Ryan Kankowski, also a Test debutant, as the world cup winners won the match 34–12.Stephen Jones South Africa run Wales into submission http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/rugby/article2936978.ece The Sunday Times Times Newspapers London 25 November 2007 1 January 2008 September 2024 medicmedicEddie Butler Wales are devoured by Burger with relish https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2007/nov/25/rugbyunion.sport2 The Observer Guardian News and Media London 25 November 2007 1 January 2008 24 November 2007 14:45 GMT WAL 12–34 Reporthttps://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/welsh/7100956.stm Wales 12-34 South Africa 24 November 2007 14 September 2017 BBC News RSA Charvis 39' mStoddart 53' c Hook (1/2) Smith 20' cFourie (2) 28' m, 31' cPietersen 44' cKankowski 67' m A.
