July 2023 July 2023 Premiership Santos AmaZulu F.C.Tembisa Classic 2000–01 2002–03 The 2001–02 South African Premiership, known as the 2001–02 Castle Premiership for sponsorship purposes, and also commonly referred to as the PSL after the governing body, was the sixth season of the Premiership since its establishment in 1996. Santos surprisingly won the title under the mentorship of Gordon Igesund. This side featured players like Edries Burton, Andre Arendse, Musa Otieno and the club's all-time top goalscorer Jean-Marc Ithier. With the title win Santos became the first – and to date the only – team that was not a founder-member of the Premiership to win the league.https://www.iol.co.za/capeargus/sport/its-official-santos-are-psl-champs-509971 It's official - Santos are PSL champs 17 July 2023 From Manning Rangers to Sundowns — all the PSL winners in 25 years https://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/soccer/2021-06-12-from-manning-rangers-to-sundowns-all-the-psl-winners-in-25-years/ 2024-01-01 TimesLIVE en-ZAIt's official - Santos are PSL champs https://www.iol.co.za/capeargus/sport/its-official-santos-are-psl-champs-509971 2024-12-31 www.iol.co.za en Final table main WDL QR SAN Santos SUP SuperSport United ORL Orlando Pirates JOM Jomo Cosmos MAM Mamelodi Sundowns MOR Moroka Swallows WIT Wits University BLA Black Leopards KAI Kaizer Chiefs MAN Manning Rangers FRE Free State Stars RIA Ria Stars LAM Lamontville Golden Arrows AJA Ajax Cape Town UMT Umtata Bush Bucks HEL Hellenic AZL AmaZulu THE Tembisa Classic 18 10 6 49 30 17 8 9 53 42 15 12 7 43 31 16 9 9 39 29 15 11 8 47 32 15 8 11 44 43 13 11 10 39 30 13 10 11 58 48 12 13 9 38 33 12 9 13 48 45 11 11 12 36 32 11 10 13 42 47 10 12 12 35 37 11 8 15 39 42 10 5 19 47 70 8 10 16 35 54 6 12 16 33 50 2 13 19 29 59 green1 Champions C red1 Relegated R R complete rsssf.com References External links RSSSF on Premiership 01/02 2001-02 Category:2001–02 in African association football leagues Category:2001–02 in South African soccer
