The season MVP starred in Alaska's amazing 22-0 romp in the second quarter that fuelled the Aces' charge after a sluggish start. The Phone Pals took the opening quarter at 34-22 but went scoreless in the first seven minutes of the second period. The Aces went ahead 44-34 after the fiery salvo presided over by Miller, John Ferriols and Rosell Ellis. It was the largest run by any team in a PBA finals since Ginebra came through with a 30-0 attack against Shell in their 1991 First Conference title playoff. The Aces sustained the momentum up to the finish, with their backs against the wall, played with great resolve, leading by as many as 22 points at 98-76 with 11:08 left to play. The Phone Pals came within two and had a chance to tie the game in the dying seconds but JJ Sullinger was smothered by an Alaska defense that all but snuffed Talk 'N Text's hopes. After a split by Reynel Hugnatan, a last-second attempt by Sullinger from beyond the arc rimmed out. 2007-07-20 PBA Fiesta: Aces fluster Phone Pals to grab title https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/content/51980/pba-fiesta-aces-fluster-phone-pals-to-grab-title/story/ 2024-08-10 GMA News Online enBacnis Justine 2024-06-18 Bong Quinto fulfills childhood dream of being a PBA champion https://tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/bong-quinto-fulfills-childhood-dream-of-being-a-pba-champion/305405 2024-08-10 Tiebreaker Times en-US 2007 Fiesta Conference Champions Alaska Aces 12th title Rosters Alaska Aces #C70309 #FFFFFF #000000 #FFFFFF 1 Mike Cortez G 5 11 De La Salle PHI 3 Nic Belasco F 6 6 Notre Dame (MD) USA 5 Rensy Bajar G 5 10 San Beda PHI 7 Sonny Thoss C 6 8 James Cook PNG 9 Christian Luanzon G 6 4 UST PHI R 11 Eddie Laure F 6 3 Adamson PHI 13 Willie Miller basketball G 5 11 Letran PHI 17 Aaron Aban GF 6 3 Letran PHI 21 Reynel Hugnatan F 6 5 Manila PHI 22 Jeffrey Cariaso G 6 2 Sonoma State USA C 32 Poch Juinio C 6 5 UP PHI 35 Tony Dela Cruz G 6 4 UC Irvine USA yes 50 Dale Singson G 6 0 UST PHI 55 John Ferriols F 6 4 USJ-R PHI 75 Rosell Ellis F 6 3 McNeese State USA I USA Tim Cone (James Madison) PHI Joel Banal (Mapúa) PHI Dickie Bachmann (De La Salle) PHI Jojo Lastimosa (Ateneo) PHI Luigi Trillo (De La Salle) (I) Import (R) Rookie _leftblacksiderightredside FFFFFF FFFFFF Light_leftblacksiderightredside ff0000 ff0000 Dark_leftblacksiderightredside 000000 000000 Alternate Talk 'N Text Phone Pals 0 JJ Sullinger F 6 6 196 Ohio State USA I 1 Abby Santos SF 6 3 UP Diliman PHI R 3 Jimmy Alapag PG 5 9 Cal State San Bernardino PHI N 4 Harvey Carey G 6 3 210 Sonoma State USA 7 Jay Washington F 6 7 Eckerd USA 8 Patrick Fran G 6 1 UST PHI 9 Mark Cardona G 6 0 180 De La Salle PHI 12 Jonathan Aldave F 6 3 Letran PHI 14 Renren Ritualo SG 6 0 De La Salle PHI N 18 Yancy de Ocampo C 6 9 235 St. Francis of Assisi PHI 28 Miguel Noble FC 6 5 215 Utica USA 29 Egay Billones PG 5 9 651 Las Piñas PHI 33 Victor Pablo PF 6 4 200 FEU PHI 41 Don Allado F 6 6 225 De La Salle PHI 42 Donbel Belano PG 5 10 178 Visayas PHI 88 Asi Taulava C 6 9 245 BYU–Hawaii TON N PHI Derrick Pumaren (UE) PHI Bong Ramos (Mapua) PHI Tonichi Yturri (De La Salle) PHI Agustin Tiongco PHI Bong Ravena (UE) (I) Import (R) Rookie (N) Did not play due to NT commitment _thinbluesides FFFFFF FFFFFF Light_thinyellowsides 0000ff 0000ff Dark Broadcast notes The Associated Broadcasting Company and DZSR Sports Radio broadcast the games nationwide.
