It was the 10th Canada Cup event, which became the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 34 teams. These were the same teams that had competed in 1961 but without Paraguay and with the addition of Ecuador and Panama. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead won by two strokes over the Argentine team of Fidel de Luca and Roberto De Vicenzo. The individual competition was won by Roberto De Vicenzo, who finished two shots ahead of Englishman Peter Alliss and Arnold Palmer.https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=kXxAAAAAIBAJ&sjid=kKMMAAAAIBAJ&pg=6784%2C1518727 United States retain Canada Cup The Glasgow Herald 12 November 1962 4 Teams Country Players Fidel de Luca and Roberto De Vicenzo Kel Nagle and Peter Thomson Donald Swaelens and Flory Van Donck BRA 1960 José Maria Gonzalez and Mário Gonzalez CAN 1957 George Knudson and Alvie Thompson Anisio Araya and Enrique Orellana Rogelio González and Miguel Sala Henning Kristensen and Carl Paulsen Jose Arequipa and Julio Polania EGY 1958 Cherif El-Sayed Cherif and Mohamed Said Moussa Peter Alliss and Bernard Hunt Roger Cotton and Jean Garaïalde Herbert Becker and Friedel Schmaderer Jimmy Martin and Christy O'Connor Snr Alfonso Angelini and Ovidio Bolognesi JPN 1947 Tadashi Kitta and Torakichi Nakamura MEX 1934 Antonio Cerdá and Augustin Martinez Jan Ouderdorp and Piet Witte Bob Charles and Ernie Southerden Ricardo Jurado and Carlos Rodriguez Alex Tibbles and Wilfredo Uculmana PHL 1936 Ben Arda and Celestino Tugot Fernando Pina and Manuel Ribeiro PRI 1952 Charles Beverage and Chi-Chi Rodríguez Eric Brown and John Panton ZAF 1928 Denis Hutchinson and Gary Player ESP 1945 Jaime Gallardo and Ángel Miguel Åke Bergquist and Harry Karlsson Otto Schoepfer and Ronald Tingley Chen Ching-Po and Lu Liang-Huan Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead José Esmoris and Juan Sereda VEN 1930 Francisco Gonzales and Teobaldo Perez Dai Rees and Dave Thomas Source Cerdá was representing Mexico, having played for Argentina from 1953 to 1957.
