2011 World Championships in Athletics – Men's 50 kilometres walk

Yohann Diniz took the early lead, challenged by Nathan Deakes until Diniz was disqualified. Deakes continued to lead by as much as 30 seconds over Sergey Bakulin but began to falter with hamstring problems. First he was passed by Bakulin before dropping out. Bakulin stretched out to almost a 2-minute lead, between 40 and 45 km, only Jared Tallent looked like he had a chance, gaining several seconds per kilometer but not really enough to make a dent in the huge lead. Tallent paid for the extra effort trying to chase the leader, slowing considerably on the final 2 km lap, being passed by world record holder Denis Nizhegorodov. Bakulin would later be found Guilty of Doping and have the Gold Stripped from him and handed to Nizhegorodov. Nizhegorodov is also currently under suspicion of Doping, with his B Sample yet to be tested, after his A Sample Tested Positive. Nizhegorodov, still currently holds the Gold Medal as of May 2016.http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-26/jared-tallent-mock-medal-ceremony-ahead-of-olympic-recognition/7446972 Jared Tallent holds mock medal ceremony ahead of official Olympic recognition 2016-05-25 ABC News 2016-05-30 Medalists GoldSilverBronzeDenis NizhegorodovRussia 2011 WorldJared TallentAustralia 2011 WorldSi TianfengChina 2011 World Records World recordDenis Nizhegorodov RUS3:34:14Cheboksary, Russia11 May 2008Championship recordRobert Korzeniowski POL3:36:03Paris, France27 August 2003World LeadingSergey Bakulin RUS3:38:46Saransk, Russia12 June 2011African recordHatem Ghoula TUN3:58:44Santa Eulària des Riu, Spain4 March 2007Asian recordYu Chaohong CHN3:36:06Nanjing, China22 October 2005North, Central American and Caribbean recordRaúl González MEX3:41:20Poděbrady, Czechoslovakia11 June 1978South American recordXavier Moreno ECU3:52:07Rio de Janeiro, Brazil28 July 2007European recordDenis Nizhegorodov RUS3:34:14Cheboksary, Russia11 May 2008Oceanian recordNathan Deakes AUS3:35:47Geelong, Australia2 December 2006 Qualification standards A timeB time 3:58:00 4:09:00 Schedule Date Time RoundSeptember 3, 2011 08:00 Final Results KEY:qFastest non-qualifiersQQualifiedNRNational recordPBPersonal bestSBSeasonal best Final Rank Athlete Nationality Time Notes Denis Nizhegorodov Russia 2011 World 3:42:45 SB Jared Tallent Australia 2011 World 3:43:36 SB Si Tianfeng China 2011 World 3:44:40 04 4 Luke Adams Australia 2011 World 3:45:41 SB05 5 Kōichirō Morioka Japan 2011 World 3:46:21 06 6 Park Chil-sung South Korea 2011 World 3:47:13 NR07 7 Xu Faguang China 2011 World 3:47:19 08 8 Takayuki Tanii Japan 2011 World 3:48:03 SB09 9 Hirooki Arai Japan 2011 World 3:48:40 PB10 Andrés Chocho Ecuador 2011 World 3:49:32 AR11 Marco De Luca Italy 2011 World 3:49:40 SB12 Rafał Sikora Poland 2011 World 3:50:24 13 Kim Dong-Young South Korea 2011 World 3:51:12 PB14 Jarkko Kinnunen Finland 2011 World 3:52:32 SB15 Jean-Jacques Nkouloukidi Italy 2011 World 3:52:35 PB16 Trond Nymark Norway 2011 World 3:54:26 SB17 Édgar Hernández Mexico 2011 World 3:54:46 SB18 José Leyver Mexico 2011 World 3:55:37 19 Oleksiy Kazanin Ukraine 2011 World 3:56:18 SB20 Omar Zepeda Mexico 2011 World 3:56:41 21 Andreas Gustafsson Sweden 2011 World 4:00:05 SB22 Bertrand Moulinet France 2011 World 4:07:58 23 Quentin Rew New Zealand 2011 World 4:08:46 24 Li Jianbo China 2011 World 4:10:26 99 Jesús Ángel García Spain 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Mikel Odriozola Spain 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Antti Kempas Finland 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Yohann Diniz France 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Cédric Houssaye France 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Colin Griffin Ireland 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Yim Jung-hyun South Korea 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Tadas Šuškevičius Lithuania 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Rafał Fedaczyński Poland 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Igor Erokhin Russia 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Nenad Filipović Serbia 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Miloš Bátovský Slovakia 2011 World 9:99:99 DSQ 99 Nathan Deakes Australia 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 José Ignacio Díaz Spain 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 Igors Kazakēvičs Latvia 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 Grzegorz Sudoł Poland 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 Sergey Kirdyapkin Russia 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 Matej Tóth Slovakia 2011 World 9:99:99 DNF 99 Christopher Linke Germany 2011 World 9:99:99 DNS 99 Robert Heffernan Ireland 2011 World 9:99:99 DNS 99 DSQ Sergey Bakulin Russia 2011 World 3:41:24 dopingEuropean Athletics banned athletesAugust 2019 InternetArchiveBot yes References External links 50 kilometres walk results at IAAF website results at IAAF website Walk 50 Category:Race walking at the World Athletics Championships
