Championship The format of the championship was changed that year to a double round-robin tournament, ostensibly as a preparation to reduce the number of teams in the championship. However, Grêmio, Internacional and Juventude, that, due to disputing the national divisions, had even more matches to play in the year than the others, came to December multiple matches behind, with only 17 days left until the end of the season. As a consequence, Juventude on two occasions had to play twice on the same day, and Grêmio at one point had to play three matches in one day.http://globoesporte.globo.com/rs/adeus-olimpico/noticia/2012/12/rodada-surreal-quando-o-olimpico-recebeu-tres-jogos-na-mesma-tarde.html Globoesporte.globo.com – A rodada surreal: quando o Olímpico recebeu três jogos na mesma tarde December 12, 2019 The length of the championship led it to be dubbed the "Interminável" (Neverending) by the press.http://jornalismojunior.com.br/o-interminavel-gauchao-de-1994-quando-gremio-e-juventude-fizeram-21-jogos-em-17-dias/ Jornalismojunior.com.br – O interminável Gauchão de 1994: quando Grêmio e Juventude fizeram 21 jogos em 17 dias August 21, 2019https://historiadofutebol.com/blog/?p=7080 Historiadofutebol.com – Gauchão de 1994, uma tarde de recordes August 21, 2019https://gauchazh.clicrbs.com.br/esportes/gauchao/noticia/2019/04/relembre-algumas-das-formulas-do-gauchao-nos-seus-cem-anos-de-historia-cjuekgd3y01x101o1lzxnbq81.html Gauchazh – Relembre algumas das fórmulas do Gauchão nos seus cem anos de história August 21, 2019 main WDL December 17, 1994 QR GRE Grêmio INT Internacional VER Veranópolis YPE Ypiranga de Erechim CAX Caxias SLZ São Luiz BFR Brasil de Farroupilha PEL Pelotas GLO Glória GSL Grêmio Santanense JUV Juventude GVA Guarani de Venâncio Aires BPE Brasil de Pelotas SCZ Santa Cruz NHB Novo Hamburgo LAJ Lajeadense AIM Aimoré EBG Esportivo SPS São Paulo ISM Internacional de Santa Maria PSF Passo Fundo GGB Guarany de Garibaldi GBG Grêmio Bagé GCA Guarany de Cruz Alta 9 18 17 37 53 5 14 25 31 67 10 18 16 36 49 14 13 17 49 49 13 13 18 33 51 7 8 29 26 69 13 15 16 42 48 16 8 20 46 63 10 13 21 33 51 0 0 0 0 0 12 18 14 45 53 13 18 13 35 36 12 19 13 41 41 24 14 6 82 37 17 14 13 40 38 18 16 10 50 40 17 11 16 55 53 15 18 11 44 35 19 9 16 50 44 19 13 12 47 36 15 13 16 54 52 21 14 9 62 43 26 15 3 66 18 19 12 13 59 37 2 green1 Champions; 1995 Division A W green2 1995 Division A C C C C C C C C C C C C C red3 1995 Division B B B B B B B B B red1 Relegated R black1 Withdrew X 1) points; 2) wins; 3) goal difference; 4) number of goals scored.
