They were the first team to go 0–29 in a single season, which is the worst winless season in NCAA Division I basketball history (however, it is not recognized as an official record since NJIT was in transition year two (of three) from Division II to Division I and, despite playing exclusively Division I opposition, were only considered a provisional member). Their closest contests were nine-point defeats at Lehigh (67–58) and at Stony Brook (62–53). Head coach Jim Casciano took an in-season temporary leave of absence for personal health matters and missed twelve games (November 11–December 15, 2007), with assistant coach Wendell Alexis assuming those duties during the absence.February 24, 2008 Jim Casciano Returns from Temporary Leave of Absence https://njithighlanders.com/news/2008/2/20/022008aaa_624 New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders The entire men's basketball coaching staff resigned, effective upon completion of the season.February 24, 2008 Jim Casciano Steps Down as Men's Basketball Coach at NJIT https://njithighlanders.com/story.aspx?filename=122707aac_634&file_date=12-27-2007 New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders Roster y 2007 NJIT Highlanders yes F 32 Kyle Edwards 6 6 225 sr Christian Heritage School Fayetteville, GA F 33 Brett Johnson 6 4 215 sr Roman Catholic HS Pennsauken, NJ G 5 Courcy Magnus 6 2 177 sr Plymouth Whitemarsh HS Plymouth Meeting, PA G 24 Kraig Peters 6 4 191 sr Lenape HS Mount Laurel, NJ F 20 Johnathan Dixon yes 6 4 215 jr Lawrenceville PS North Brunswick, NJ F 15 Gary Garris I 6 5 205 jr AmericanHun School Ledgewood, NJ F 35 Nesho Milosevic 6 8 245 jr SierraSlobodan Skerovic Bar, Yugoslavia C 00 Dan Stonkus 6 9 245 so South Brunswick HS Monmouth Junction, NJ F/G 23 Anthony Collier yes 6 4 175 fr Southfield-Lathrup HS Farmington, MI G 1 Tyler Epps 5 11 175 fr North Mecklenburg HS Charlotte, NC G 21 Justin Garris 6 3 190 fr Delbarton PS Ledgewood, NJ G 10 Rey Jefferson W 6 2 180 fr Morristown–Beard PS Budd Lake, NJ G 12 Brendon Lyn 5 9 175 fr Episcopal HS Mount Vernon, NY F 11 Paulius Skema 6 8 204 fr Veritas Christian Academy Vilnius, Lithuania G 13 Jheryl Wilson 6 3 185 fr St. Benedict's PS Irvington, NJ Jim Casciano (Drexel) Wendell Alexis (Syracuse) Steve Brodzinski (New York) David Grande (West Chester) https://njithighlanders.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/2007-08 February 24, 2008 Schedule & Results yes yes yes |- !colspan=9 style="NJIT Highlanders white"|Regular Season November 10, 2007 yes 2:00 PM Manhattan 28–70 0–1 Milosevic 8 Stonkus 9 Lyn,Wilson 2 Estelle & Zoom FleisherAthletic Center 801 Newark, NJ November 13, 2007 yes 11:00 PM yes Washington Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-OffWest RegionalSemifinal 47–88 0–2 J.Garris 10 Milosevic 6 Wilson 3 Bank of America Arena atHec Edmundson Pavilion 8,655 Seattle, WA November 14, 2007 yes 7:30 PM yes High Point Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-OffWest RegionalConsolation 53–76 0–3 Milosevic,Peters 13 Stonkus 8 Wilson 3 Bank of America Arena atHec Edmundson Pavilion 7,006 Seattle, WA November 20, 2007 yes 7:00 PM Vermont 71–91 0–4 Peters 16 Stonkus 5 Wilson 4 Estelle & Zoom FleisherAthletic Center 890 Newark, NJ November 24, 2007 yes 2:00 PM American 50–73 0–5 Stonkus 15 Milosevic 6 Wilson 3 Estelle & Zoom FleisherAthletic Center 801 Newark, NJ November 26, 2007 yes 7:00 PM yes Lehigh 58–67 0–6 Milosevic 20 Skema 6 Lyn 4 Donald B.
