The Bulls were led by head coach Jim Leavitt in his sixth year, played their home games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida and competed as a Division I-A Independent. The Bulls finished the season with a record of nine wins and two losses (9–2). However, the Bulls did not participate in a bowl game. They were offered a spot in the 2002 Seattle Bowl (after initially being publicly denied a spot in it by the executive director of the bowl) but declined it due to how they would have had to pay the bowl $2 million to play in it, as the bowl was only extending a spot to the Bulls so they would cover the financial woes of the game.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXeQYVDs-Wk The CRAZIEST BOWL in South Florida HISTORY 2002 Seattle Bowl 2023-01-04 JaguarGator8 2024-11-25 YouTube Schedule 2002 AP Eastern August 29 Thursday 7:00 p.m. w Florida Atlantic Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL rivalry 51–10 22,074 September 7 7:00 p.m. w Northern Illinois Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL 37–6 23,559 September 14 7:00 p.m. l y Arkansas War Memorial Stadium Little Rock, AR WMOR 3–42 55,817 September 28 7:00 p.m. l y Oklahoma 2 Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Norman, OK TBS 14–31 74,432 October 5 8:05 p.m. w y North Texas Fouts Field Denton, TX WMOR 24–17 15,512 October 12 7:00 p.m. w Southern Miss Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL FSN 16–13 28,181 Bulls prove to be ready for prime-time players October 13, 2002 St. Petersburg Times https://www.newspapers.com/clip/109325639/bulls-prove-to-be-ready-for-prime-time-p/ September 10, 2022 Newspapers.com October 19 2:00 p.m. w y East Carolina Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium Greenville, NC FSN 46–30 33,419 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/73326241/bulls-lift-travel-troubles/ Tampa Bay Times Bulls lift travel troubles October 20, 2002 March 12, 2021 Newspapers.com November 2 7:00 p.m. w Charleston Southern Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL 56–6 23,144 https://www.newspapers.com/article/tampa-bay-times-scoreboard-lights-up-for/177898494/ St. Petersburg Times Scoreboard lights up for Bulls November 3, 2002 July 31, 2025 Newspapers.com November 9 7:00 p.m. w y Memphis Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL 31–28 32,270 November 16 7:00 p.m. w Bowling Green Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL 29–7 28,098 November 23 3:00 p.m. w y Houston Robertson Stadium Houston, TX FSN 32–14 12,856 Roster 2002 South Florida Bulls f 10 Sr Marquel Blackwell QB y 72 Sr Ken Dawson T 26 So Billy Henderson RB 71 So Alex Herron C 22 Jr Elgin Hicks WR 4 Sr DeAndrew Rubin WR y 2 Sr Hugh Smith WR 15 Jr Huey Whittaker WR 86 Fr Bryan Williams WR 55 Jr Cedric Battles DL 51 Fr Devon Davis LB 53 Sr Julian Johnson DE 52 Jr Mike Minus LB 5 Sr Kawika Mitchell LB y 54 Sr Emerson Morris DL 50 Fr Stephen Nicholas LB 41 Sr Shurron Pierson DE y 32 Jr J.
