Marco van Basten had his last season uninterrupted by injury, netting 25 goals, which was one of the main reasons Milan was able to overhaul Juventus to claim the Serie A title. Milan ran through entire the 34–game league season unbeaten, a feat only happened once before in Italy—Perugia in the 30-game 1978–79, although they failed to win the Serie A title—and as of 2026 has only happened once more—Juventus in the 38-game 2011–12 season. The team's unbeaten run totalled 58 matches between 1991 and 1993, a record in Italian football, encompassing the following league season as well.http://www.goal.com/en/slideshow/456/5/title/10-famous-unbeaten-runs 10 Famous Unbeaten Runs goal goal dead https://web.archive.org/web/20180903143944/http://www.goal.com/en/slideshow/456/5/title/10-famous-unbeaten-runs 3 September 2018 4 September 2018https://talksport.com/football/fa-cup/130816/milan-team-better-record-arsenals-unbeaten-side-remembering-ac-milans-very-own-invincibles/ The Milan team with a BETTER record than Arsenal's unbeaten side – remembering AC Milan's very own Invincibles 15 February 2012 talkSPORT 4 September 2018 For their achievements, the 1991–92 Milan side received the nickname "Gli invincibili" ("The invincibles," in Italian) in the media.http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=1745954.html https://web.archive.org/web/20120202011730/http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=1745954.html dead February 2, 2012 Longest unbeaten runs in European league football 4 February 2016 UEFA 3 June 2017https://www.repubblica.it/online/campionato/sfida/sfida/sfida.html?ref=search Sacchi contro Capello ora parla il campo La Repubblica it 31 January 2001 26 April 2020 https://www.corriere.it/sport/calcio/serie-a/2015-2016/cards/fenomenologia-dell-1-0-milan-capello-lulic-71-risultato-che-non-dispiace-solo-all-inter/piaceva-milan-capello.shtml Fenomenologia dell'1-0: dal Milan di Capello, a Lulic 71, un risultato che non dispiace solo all'Inter Il Corriere della Sera it Cruccu Matteo 7 December 2015 26 April 2020 http://www.mediaset.it/quimediaset/comunicati/scudetto-story-il-milan-degli-invincibili-1991-1992_15785.shtml "Scudetto Story": "Il Milan degli invincibili 1991/1992" Mediaset it 24 March 2013 26 April 2020 http://archiviostorico.gazzetta.it/2012/maggio/13/Scudetto_imbattuta_per_una_festa_ga_10_120513048.shtml Scudetto da imbattuta per una festa perfetta JUVE DAY DAY La Gazzetta dello Sport 13 May 2002 it Mirko Graziano 26 April 2020 https://www.pianetamilan.it/la-storia/amarcord/le-maglie-del-milan-stagione-199394-gli-invincibili-di-don-fabio-capello/ Le maglie del Milan – Stagione 1993/94: gli Invincibili di Capello Pianeta Milan it 15 April 2019 26 April 2020 Squad y y GK ITA Sebastiano Rossi y GK ITA Francesco Antonioli y GK ITA Carlo Cudicini y DF ITA Mauro Tassotti y DF ITA Franco Baresi y DF ITA Alessandro Costacurta y DF ITA Filippo Galli y DF ITA Enzo Gambaro y DF ITA Paolo Maldini y MF ITA Demetrio Albertini y y MF ITA Carlo Ancelotti y MF ITA Roberto Donadoni y MF ITA Diego Fuser y MF NED Frank Rijkaard y MF ITA Alberico Evani y FW NED Ruud Gullit y FW ITA Giovanni Cornacchini y FW ITA Daniele Massaro y FW ITA Aldo Serena y FW ITA Marco Simone y FW NED Marco van Basten Transfers In Pos.
