September 2010 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League The 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League championship round was played from February to April 2011. A total of eight teams qualified for the championship round from the group stage. The championship round draw was conducted on November 1, 2010, at the CONCACAF headquarters in New York City.http://www.concacaf.com/page/CL/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2204331,00.html Domestic rivalries highlight CCL quarterfinals concacaf.com CONCACAF 2010-11-01 2010-11-01 https://web.archive.org/web/20101104212421/http://www.concacaf.com/page/CL/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2204331,00.html 2010-11-04 dead In the quarterfinals, the group winners were assured of playing the second leg at home, and were drawn against the group runners-up, with the only restriction being that they could not face the same team that it played in the group stage (and thus they may face a team from the same association). The championship round was played in knockout format. Each tie was played over two legs, and the away goals rule would be used, but not after a tie enters extra time, and so a tie would be decided by penalty shootout if the aggregate score is level after extra time.http://www.concacaf.com/staticFiles/e7/52/0,,12813~152295,00.pdf CONCACAF Champions League Regulations 2010/2011 2011-02-21 https://web.archive.org/web/20110211085702/http://www.concacaf.com/staticFiles/e7/52/0,,12813~152295,00.pdf 2011-02-11 dead Qualified teams Group Winners Runners-up A USA Real Salt Lake MEX Cruz Azul B MEX Santos Laguna USA Columbus Crew C MEX Monterrey CRC Saprissa D HON 1949 Olimpia MEX Toluca Bracket y 175 Quarterfinals Semifinals Finals MEX Toluca 0 0 0 MEX Monterrey 1 1 2 MEX Cruz Azul 2 3 5 MEX Santos Laguna 0 1 1 USA Columbus Crew 0 1 1 USA Real Salt Lake 0 4 4 CRC Saprissa 1 2 3 HON 1949 Olimpia 0 1 1 MEX Monterrey 2 1 3 MEX Cruz Azul 1 1 2 USA Real Salt Lake 2 1 3 CRC Saprissa 0 2 2 MEX Monterrey 2 1 3 USA Real Salt Lake 2 0 2 Quarterfinals The first legs of the quarterfinals were played February 22–24, 2011, and the second legs were played March 1–3, 2011.http://www.concacaf.com/page/CL/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2215194,00.html Crew-Salt Lake to open CCL quarterfinals concacaf.com CONCACAF 2010-11-10 2010-11-11 https://web.archive.org/web/20101118071022/http://www.concacaf.com/page/CL/NewsDetail/0,,12813~2215194,00.html 2010-11-18 dead Toluca MEX 0–2 Monterrey MEX 0–1 0–1 Cruz Azul MEX 5–1 Santos Laguna MEX 2–0 3–1 Columbus Crew USA 1–4 Real Salt Lake USA 0–0 1–4 Saprissa CRC 3–1 Olimpia HON 1949 1–0 2–1 |} All Times U.S. Eastern Standard Time (UTC−05:00) First leg Columbus Crew v Real Salt Lake February 22, 2011 20:00 Columbus Crew USA 0 – 0 Report USA Real Salt Lake Columbus Crew Stadium, Columbus 4,665 Jair Marrufo (United States) Cruz Azul v Santos Laguna February 22, 2011 22:00 Cruz Azul MEX 2 – 0 Report MEX Santos Laguna Orozco 58 Giménez 68 Estadio Azul, Mexico City 14,062 Paul Delgadillo (Mexico) Toluca v Monterrey February 23, 2011 20:00 Toluca MEX 0 – 1 Report MEX Monterrey O.
