Unlike the 2014 edition, which was played over two-legs hosted by each participating team, the 2015 Supercopa MX was a one match at a neutral venue, Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, United States.http://www.ligamx.net/cancha/detallenoticia/11338 Campeón de Campeones y SuperCopaMX Liga MX 5 June 2015 5 June 2015 The winner of Supercopa MX typically earns a spot in the Copa Libertadores first stage as "Mexico 3". However, Santos Laguna who won the Apertura 2014 Copa MX qualified to the 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League after winning the Clausura 2015 league title and are therefore ineligible for South American competitions. Which meant Puebla automatically earned a spot in the 2016 Copa Libertadores first stage. Winning the Clausura 2015 league title also meant Santos Laguna played the 2015 Campeón de Campeones against the winner of the Apertura 2014 league title Club América later that night. Therefore, Santos Laguna was replaced by Monarcas Morelia, the winners of the Apertura 2013 Copa MX and the 2014 Supercopa MX. The 2015 Supercopa MX was part of a doubleheader, which also includes the 2015 Campeón de Campeones, organized by Univision Deportes, Soccer United Marketing (SUM), FC Dallas and Liga MX. http://www.fcdallas.com/news/2015/06/toyota-stadium-selected-host-american-debut-campeon-de-campeones-and-supercopa-july-20- dead https://web.archive.org/web/20150606155616/http://www.fcdallas.com/news/2015/06/toyota-stadium-selected-host-american-debut-campeon-de-campeones-and-supercopa-july-20- 2015-06-06 Toyota Stadium selected to host American debut of Campeón de Campeones and SuperCopa with July 20 doubleheader FC Dallas Match details 20 July 2015 17:30 Puebla 1–0 Report Morelia Rey 68 Toyota Stadium, Frisco 8,000 Kevin Terry, Jr. (United States) _puebla1516h _puebla1516h _puebla1516h _puebla1516h _puebla1516h FFFFFF ffffff FFFFFF 0033FF 0033FF Puebla _morelia1516a _morelia1516a _morelia1516a _morelia1516a _ballenas1314t FFFF00 FFFF00 FFFF00 FFFFFF FF0000 Morelia GK 17 ARG Cristian CampestriniDF 3 MEX Carlos Alberto GutiérrezDF 5 MEX Mario de Luna DF 22 MEX Patricio Araujo (c)DF 12 MEX Óscar Rojas MF 28 MEX Francisco TorresMF 8 MEX Luis Robles MF 27 MEX Alberto Acosta 56MF 10 MEX Christian Bermúdez 79MF 19 MEX Flavio Santos 46 63FW 18 COL Luis Gabriel ReySubstitutions:GK 1 MEX Fabián VillaseñorDF 20 MEX Adrián Cortés DF 26 MEX Roberto Juárez 79MF 16 MEX David Toledo 63MF 29 ARG Ezequiel Rescaldani FW 9 CHI Isaac DíazFW 29 ARG Matías Alustiza 56Manager:ARG Pablo Marini GK 13 MEX Cirilo Saucedo DF 17 MEX Hibert Ruiz 44 DF 4 ARG Marco Torsiglieri 29DF 5 ARG Facundo Erpen DF 2 MEX Enrique Pérez (c)MF 16 MEX Cristian Pellerano MF 8 MEX Juan Pablo Rodríguez 88 MF 24 MEX Dieter Villalpando 77FW 9 COL Yorleys Mena 52FW 7 PAR Pablo Velázquez 58FW 23 COL Jefferson Cuero Substitutions:GK 1 MEX Carlos Felipe RodríguezDF 6 MEX Joel Huiqui DF 25 MEX Carlos Calvo MF 10 ARG Mauro Cejas 77MF 22 MEX Armando Zamorano 52MF 26 MEX Christian ValdezFW 11 MEX Carlos Ochoa 58Manager:MEX Enrique Meza Assistant referees: Adam Garner (United States) Jonathan Johnson (United States) Fourth official: Luis Guardia (United States) See also Apertura 2014 Copa MX Clausura 2015 Copa MX References 2015 Category:2015–16 in Mexican football Category:Atlético Morelia matches Category:Club Puebla matches Category:2015 in American soccer Category:July 2015 sports events in the United States Category:Men's soccer matches in the United States Category:Soccer competitions in Texas Category:Sports competitions in Frisco, Texas Category:2015 in sports in Texas Category:2015–16 in domestic association football cups
