In the finals, only eight cleared 1.92; Ana Šimić, Doreen Amata, and Levern Spencer, who had jumped it in qualification, missed three times. 1.95 lost Jeanelle Scheper and Eleanor Patterson, but the remaining six all made it through three heights to 1.99. Two-time champion Blanka Vlašić looked like her dominant self from six years earlier with a large clearance at 2.01, but she had one failure at 1.92. Mariya Kuchina, whose best achievement had been a tie for the World Indoor Championship, cleared it next as a personal best, and she was still clean. The 2012 Olympic champion Anna Chicherova cleared it on her second attempt. Kamila Lićwinko (the other half of that tie), returning bronze medalist Ruth Beitia, and Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch were unable to make 2.01, so the medals were settled. The bar went up to 2.03, but nobody could make it, so the results were decided by the count back. Chicherova needed two attempts at the winning height, so she finished third. Of the two who made it their first time, that mistake earlier in the competition gave Vlašić another silver medal (her fourth in major competition), while Kuchina's perfect series was rewarded with the gold medal.http://www.iaaf.org/news/report/beijing-2015-mens-high-jump-final REPORT: WOMEN'S HIGH JUMP FINAL – IAAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, BEIJING 2015 29 August 2015 iaaf.org 2 September 2015 Records Prior to the competition, the records were as follows:http://www.iaaf.org/records/by-discipline/jumps/high-jump/outdoor/women Records & Lists – high jump IAAF 14 August 2015 World record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987Championship record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987World leadingAnna Chicherova RUS2.03Lausanne, Switzerland9 July 2015African recordHestrie Cloete RSA2.06Paris, France31 August 2003Asian recordMarina Aitova KAZ1.99Athens, Greece13 July 2009North, Central American and Caribbean recordChaunté Howard Lowe USA2.05Des Moines, United States26 June 2010South American recordSolange Witteveen ARG1.96Oristano, Italy8 September 1997European record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987Oceanian recordVanessa Browne-Ward AUS1.98Perth, Australia12 February 1989Alison Inverarity AUSIngolstadt, Germany17 July 1994 Qualification standards Entry standards 2014 IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015 – Standards http://media.aws.iaaf.org/competitioninfo/544c7d0a-0807-4226-a85b-79928c58a097.pdf IAAF 18 August 2015 1.94 Schedule Date Time Round27 August 2015 09:35 Qualification29 August 2015 18:30 Final Results KEY:QQualifiedq12 best performersNRNational recordPBPersonal bestSBSeasonal best Qualification Qualification: 1.94 m (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q).Qualification results Rank Group Name Nationality 1.80 1.85 1.89 1.92 Mark Notes 1 B Ana Šimić CRO 2015 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 A Anna Chicherova RUS 2015 World – o o o 1.92 q 1 A Blanka Vlašić CRO 2015 World – o o o 1.92 q 1 A Doreen Amata NGR 2015 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 A Levern Spencer LCA 2015 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 B Mariya Kuchina RUS 2015 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 A Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch GER 2015 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 B Ruth Beitia ESP 2015 World – o o o 1.92 q 9 B Eleanor Patterson AUS 2015 World – o xo o 1.92 q 9 B Kamila Lićwinko POL 2015 World – o xo o 1.92 q 11 B Jeanelle Scheper LCA 2015 World o o xxo o 1.92 q 12 B Mirela Demireva BUL 2015 World o xo o xo 1.92 q 13 B Svetlana Radzivil UZB 2015 World o o xo xxo 1.92 q 14 A Airinė Palšytė LTU 2015 World o o o xxx 1.89 14 A Morgan Lake GBR 2015 World o o o xxx 1.89 14 B Oksana Okuneva UKR 2015 World o o o xxx 1.89 14 B Sofie Skoog SWE 2015 World o o o xxx 1.89 18 A Erika Kinsey SWE 2015 World o xo o xxx 1.89 19 B Isobel Pooley GBR 2015 World o o xo xxx 1.89 19 B Oldřiška Marešová CZE 2015 World o o xo xxx 1.89 21 A Lissa Labiche SEY 2015 World o xo xxo xxx 1.89 22 B Priscilla Frederick ATG 2015 World o o xxx 1.85 23 A Iryna Herashchenko UKR 2015 World xo o xxx 1.85 24 B Yuliya Levchenko UKR 2015 World o xo xxx 1.85 25 A Eleriin Haas EST 2015 World o xxo xxx 1.85 26 A Zheng Xingjuan CHN 2015 World o xxx 1.80 26 B Barbara Szabó HUN 2015 World o xxx 1.80 28 A Venelina Veneva-Mateeva BUL 2015 World xo xxx 1.80 29 A Chaunté Lowe USA 2015 World xxx 0.00 NM 29 A Valentina Liashenko GEO 2015 World xxx 0.00 NM Final The final started at 18:30.Final results Rank Name Nationality 1.88 1.92 1.95 1.97 1.99 2.01 2.03 Mark Notes Mariya Kuchina RUS 2015 World o o o o o o xxx 2.01 PB Blanka Vlašić CRO 2015 World o xo o o o o xxx 2.01 SB Anna Chicherova RUS 2015 World o – o xo o xo xxx 2.01 04 4 Kamila Lićwinko POL 2015 World o o o o o xxx 1.99 =NR Polish 05 5 Ruth Beitia ESP 2015 World o o xo o o xxx 1.99 06 6 Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch GER 2015 World o o o x– xo xxx 1.99 PB 07 7 Jeanelle Scheper LCA 2015 World o o xxx 1.92 08 8 Eleanor Patterson AUS 2015 World xo o xxx 1.92 09 9 Ana Šimić CRO 2015 World o xxx 1.88 09 9 Mirela Demireva BUL 2015 World o xxx 1.88 09 9 Svetlana Radzivil UZB 2015 World o xxx 1.88 12 Levern Spencer LCA 2015 World xo xxx 1.88 12 Doreen Amata NGR 2015 World xo xxx 1.88 References High jump Category:High jump at the World Athletics Championships
