FC Dinamo București attacked furiously in the first half-hour but missed many chances before Metalul Reșița's striker Ștefan Szeleș scored twice ('30, '40), following two fast counterattacks. Dinamo tried to come back, but were unable as Metalul's players held their ground and marched to a legendary victory. Republicii Stadium was the place of the final which was later demolished by Nicolae Ceaușescu to make room for the Palace of the Parliament.https://istoriabanatului.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/mircea-rusnac-in-1954-metalul-resita-a-cucerit-cupa-romaniei-la-fotbal/ Mircea Rusnac – În 1954, Metalul Reşiţa a cucerit Cupa României la fotbal 13 March 2011 http://radioresita.ro/100865/metalul-resita-60-de-ani-de-la-castigarea-cupei-romaniei-la-fotbal Metalul Reşiţa, 60 de ani de la câştigarea Cupei României la fotbal http://www.regelefotbal.ro/legende/cupa-romaniei-istoria-2 Regele Fotbal | Cupa României: Istoria www.regelefotbal.ro 22 May 2022 https://web.archive.org/web/20140707223814/http://www.regelefotbal.ro/legende/cupa-romaniei-istoria-2 7 July 2014 dead http://www.ripensia-sport-magazin.ro/istoria-fotbalului/lista-tuturor-finalelor-cupei-romaniei/ Lista tuturor finalelor Cupei României 17 May 2016 Metalul Reșița become the first club representing Divizia B which won the Romanian Cup final.https://www.digisport.ro/fotbal/cupa-romaniei/performanta-istorica-hermannstadt-e-prima-echipa-din-liga-2-calificata-in-finala-cupei-romaniei-dupa-36-de-ani-444059 Performanţă istorică!
