Final tournament
Eight teams were divided in two groups and play a round-robin tournament. The top two placed teams advanced to the semifinals. The losers of those semifinals played in the third place match, while the winners faced off in the final. The top three placed teams qualified directly to the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
However, as Martinique is not a member of FIFA – since it is an overseas department of the French Republic – it is therefore not eligible to qualify. It was announced during the Final Draw on September 5 that Martinique would not be able to advance beyond the group round, and that the next best team would take their place in the semifinals should they finish in the top two in their group.http://www.concacaf.com/article/draw-yields-matchups-for-concacaf-womens-championship-usa-2014 Draw Yields Matchups for CONCACAF Women's Championship USA 2014 September 5, 2014 September 22, 2014 concacaf.com September 29, 2014 https://web.archive.org/web/20140929020420/http://www.concacaf.com/article/draw-yields-matchups-for-concacaf-womens-championship-usa-2014 deadhttp://issuu.com/concacaf2013/docs/cwc_regulations-eng/ CONCACAF Women's Championship USA 2014 Regulations CONCACAF September 22, 2014
