In the final, six competitors cleared 1.97, world leader and Olympic silver medalist Brigetta Barrett, Olympic gold medalist and defending champion Anna Chicherova, and European indoor champion Ruth Beitia still perfect. But at 2.00, only Barrett and Olympic bronze medalist Svetlana Shkolina made it, both on the first attempt, giving Barrett the lead and leaving Chicherova and Beitia tied for bronze. At 2.03, Shkolina reversed that position with a first attempt clearance. Barrett had no answer. The answer came in February 2019 when Shkolina was handed a four-year ban for doping, retroactive to 2012, disqualifying her gold medal.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/47095072 Doping bans for 12 Russian athletes including 2012 Olympic champion Ivan Ukhov BBC Sport 1 February 2019 Records Prior to the competition, the records were as follows:http://www.iaaf.org/records/by-discipline/jumps/high-jump/outdoor/women Records & Lists – high jump IAAF 8 August 2013 World record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987Championship record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987World leadingBrigetta Barrett USA2.04Des Moines, United States22 June 2013African recordHestrie Cloete RSA2.06Paris, France31 August 2003Asian recordMarina Aitova KAZ1.99Athens, Greece13 July 2009North, Central American and Caribbean recordChaunté Howard Lowe USA2.05Des Moines, United States26 June 2010South American recordSolange Witteveen ARG1.96Oristano, Italy8 September 1997European record23px|border Stefka Kostadinova (BUL)2.09Rome, Italy30 August 1987Oceanian recordVanessa Browne-Ward AUS1.98Perth, Australia12 February 1989Alison Inverarity AUSIngolstadt, Germany17 July 1994 Schedule Date Time Round15 August 2013 09:40 Qualification17 August 2013 18:00 Final All times are local times (UTC+4) Results KEY:QQualifiedq12 best performersNRNational recordPBPersonal bestSBSeasonal best Qualification Qualification: Qualifying Performance 1.95 (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q) advanced to the final.Qualification Results Rank Group Name Nationality 1.78 1.83 1.88 1.92 Mark Notes 1 A Irina Gordeeva RUS 2013 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 A Anna Chicherova RUS 2013 World – – o o 1.92 q 1 A Alessia Trost ITA 2013 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 A Emma Green Tregaro SWE 2013 World – – o o 1.92 q 1 B Svetlana Shkolina RUS 2013 World – – o o 1.92 q 1 B Airinė Palšytė LTU 2013 World o o o o 1.92 q 1 B Ruth Beitia ESP 2013 World – o o o 1.92 q 8 B Brigetta Barrett USA 2013 World – xxo o o 1.92 q 8 A Zheng Xingjuan CHN 2013 World – o xxo o 1.92 q, SB 10 B Kamila Stepaniuk POL 2013 World o o xo xo 1.92 q 11 A Justyna Kasprzycka POL 2013 World – o o xxo 1.92 q 11 A Levern Spencer LCA 2013 World – o o xxo 1.92 q 11 A Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch GER 2013 World o o o xxo 1.92 q 14 A Nadiya Dusanova UZB 2013 World – o o xxx 1.88 15 A Oksana Okuneva UKR 2013 World o xo o xxx 1.88 16 B Maayan Furman-Shahaf ISR 2013 World o o xo xxx 1.88 16 B Anna Iljuštšenko EST 2013 World – o xo xxx 1.88 18 A Inika McPherson USA 2013 World – xxo xo xxx 1.88 19 B Ana Šimić CRO 2013 World xo xo xxo xxx 1.88 20 B Barbara Szabó HUN 2013 World o o xxx 1.83 20 B Burcu Yüksel TUR 2013 World o o xxx 1.83 20 B Antonia Stergiou GRE 2013 World o o xxx 1.83 20 B Yelena Slesarenko RUS 2013 World o o xxx 1.83 24 B Jeanelle Scheper LCA 2013 World xo o xxx 1.83 25 A Marina Aitova KAZ 2013 World o xo xxx 1.83 26 B Mirela Demireva BUL 2013 World o xxo xxx 1.83 27 A Miyuki Fukumoto JPN 2013 World o xxx 1.78 Final thumb|Silver medalist Ruth Beitia The final was started at 18:00.Final Results Rank Name Nationality 1.89 1.93 1.97 2.00 2.03 2.05 Mark Notes DSQ Svetlana Shkolina RUS 2013 World o xo o o o xx- 2.03 PB Brigetta Barrett USA 2013 World o o o o xxx 2.00 Ruth Beitia ESP 2013 World o o o xxx 1.97 Anna Chicherova RUS 2013 World o o o xxx 1.97 04 4 Emma Green Tregaro SWE 2013 World o xo xo xxx 1.97 SB 05 5 Justyna Kasprzycka POL 2013 World o o xxo xxx 1.97 PB 06 6 Kamila Stepaniuk POL 2013 World o o xxx 1.93 07 7 Alessia Trost ITA 2013 World o o xxx 1.93 08 8 Zheng Xingjuan CHN 2013 World o xo xxx 1.93 SB 09 9 Irina Gordeeva RUS 2013 World o xo xxx 1.93 10 10 Levern Spencer LCA 2013 World o xxx 1.89 11 Airinė Palšytė LTU 2013 World xo xxx 1.89 12 Marie-Laurence Jungfleisch GER 2013 World xxx 0.00 NM References External links High jump results at IAAF website High jump Category:High jump at the World Athletics Championships
