FIVB Women's World Championship women World 1962 Soviet Union 1955 13–25 October 14 4 Japan 1 1960 1967 The 1962 FIVB Women's World Championship was the fourth edition of the tournament, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB. It was held from 13 to 25 October 1962 in the Soviet Union.http://www.fivb.org/EN/Volleyball/Competitions/WorldChampionships/2014/Women/pastresults.asp?year=1962 WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 1962 FIVB 16 October 2017 As a tournament held once every four years and following its last edition in 1960, the subsequent tournament should have been in 1964. When volleyball became an Olympic sport starting in the 1964 Games, the FIVB decided to move the World Championships from the Olympic years to be played in between Olympic Games, therefore anticipating the 1964 edition to 1962.https://saidaderede.blogosfera.uol.com.br/2017/01/29/1967-o-mundial-de-volei-que-a-guerra-fria-encurtou/ 1967: o Mundial de Vôlei que a Guerra Fria encurtou Portuguese João Batista Junior 29 January 2017 UOL 17 October 2017 Teams 18em AUT BRA 1960 BUL 1948 CHN TCH GDR HUN JPN 1870 NED PRK POL 1928 ROU 1952 URS 1955 FRG Squads Source:http://www.todor66.com/volleyball/World/Women_1962.html Women Volleyball IV World Championship 1962 todor66.com 16 October 2017 April 2026 Venues Source: Pool A Pool B Soviet Union Host cities in the Soviet Union center 480 Soviet Union 50.45 30.523333 bottom Kiev Soviet Union 59.95 30.3 right Leningrad Soviet Union 55.75 37.616667 right Moscow Soviet Union 56.948889 24.106389 top Riga Riga Leningrad Capacity: Capacity: Pool C, Final round Pool D, Final round Kiev Moscow Capacity: Capacity: Format The tournament was played in two different stages (first and final rounds).
