Fresno State competed in the California Coast Conference (CCC) from 1922 to 1924. The 1923 team was led by head coach Arthur W. Jones in his third year at the helm. They finished as co-champion of the CCC, with a record of seven wins and two losses (7–2, 3–0 CCC). The Bulldogs outscored their opponents 211–108 for the season. At the end of the season, the champion of the CCC North Division (Pacific) was to meet the champion of the CCC South Division (Fresno State) for the conference championship. However, the two teams could not agree on a site and the game was never played.http://www2.bc.cc.ca.us/bcarchive/content/10/B/03/1923%20December%2021.pdf https://web.archive.org/web/20170411141854/http://www2.bc.cc.ca.us/bcarchive/content/10/B/03/1923%20December%2021.pdf dead April 11, 2017 Kern County Junior College ReneGade Sports December 21, 1923 Kern County Junior College April 8, 2017 Schedule October 6 w y Reedley High School Fresno, CA 39–0 October 13 ? w y Caruthers American Legion (CA) Fresno, CA ? 39–0 October 20 w 1924 Sacramento Panthers Sacramento Fresno, CA 53–18 October 27 w y y Cal Aggies Davis, CA 26–14 Aggies Lose To Fresno, 25 to 14 Woodland Daily Democrat Woodland, California October 29, 1923 1 https://www.newspapers.com/clip/17903226/aggies_lose_to_fresno/ Newspapers.com March 1, 2018 November 3 w y 1923 Modesto Pirates Modesto Modesto, CA 7–6 November 10 l y y Nevada Mackay StadiumThis stadium is the predecessor to the current Mackay Stadium, which was opened for the 1966 season.Mackay Stadium http://www.unr.edu/around-campus/mackay-stadium University of Nevada, Reno January 4, 2017 note Reno, NV 3–46 November 17 w y 1923 Redlands Bulldogs Redlands Fresno, CA 10–6 November 24 w 1923 Bakersfield Renegades Bakersfield Fresno, CA 32–6 November 29 l y y San Diego State Balboa Stadium San Diego, CA rivalry 2–12 State College Whips Fresno, 12 to 2; Local Team Surprises Supporters The San Diego Union San Diego, California Ted Steinmann November 30, 1923 Fresno State Football Media Guide https://gobulldogs.com/documents/2024/8/21/5._2024_Record_Book.pdf Fresno State Athletics 118 January 27, 2025 Notes note References Fresno State Category:Fresno State Bulldogs football seasons Category:California Coast Conference football champion seasons Fresno State Bulldogs football
