He needs a two-thirds majority to win in the first round, while an absolute majority is enough in the second round. All 25 Members of the Parliament attended the session, including Eddé and El Khoury, and voted in two rounds. Eddé won the first one with 14 votes against 11 for El Khoury. In the second round however, 15 deputies elected Eddé, which was enough for him to become the next President.محضر الجلسة الاولى من العقد الاستثنائي الاول لسنة 1936 http://www.legallaw.ul.edu.lb/parliament/P3/1936/P36E11/001.HTM live https://web.archive.org/web/20210108223603/http://www.legallaw.ul.edu.lb/parliament/P3/1936/P36E11/001.HTM 2021-01-08 2020-11-16 www.legallaw.ul.edu.lbاللواء جريدة تاريخ الإنتخابات النيابية من الاستانة إلى الدوحة (9) http://aliwaa.com.lb/خاص-اللواء/تاريخ-الإنتخابات-النيابية-من-الاستانة-إلى-الدوحة-9/ 2020-11-16 جريدة اللواء ar-lb Émile Eddé 15 Bechara El Khoury 10 0 25 25 References Category:Elections in Lebanon Lebanon Category:January 1936 in Asia Category:1936 in Lebanon
