Bush Republican Party (United States) The 2000 United States presidential election in Nebraska took place on November 7, 2000, and was part of the 2000 United States presidential election. Voters chose five representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. Nebraska is one of the two states (the other being Maine) to award electoral votes to the winner of each congressional district. Texas Governor George W. Bush won the statewide vote by a 29% margin of victory, winning every county.
