However, he would instead sign a one-year contract reportedly worth $1.2 million to play with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. While Mudiay's family indicated the signing was financially motivated, news reports indicated that he was unlikely to be approved for play by the NCAA's eligibility clearinghouse.http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/22/report-emmanuel-mudiay-gets-huge-deal-to-head-to-china/ Emmanuel Mudiay to China makes him even more of a case-study Rob Dauster College Basketball Talk NBCSports.com July 22, 2014 July 28, 2014 His NCAA eligibility difficulties stemmed largely from his two years at Prime Prep Academy in Arlington, Texas—a school that has never had any of its academic courses approved by the NCAA to establish a player's eligibility.http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24627290/those-two-years-spent-at-prime-prep-put-emmanuel-mudiay-in-a-tough-spot Those two years spent at Prime Prep put Emmanuel Mudiay in a tough spot Gary Parrish College Basketball Insider CBSSports.com July 18, 2014 July 28, 2014 Roster ֶ2014 SMU Mustangs y yes Ben Moore basketball y 00 F 6 8 185 SO Bolingbrook, Illinois Bolingbrook HS Ryan Manuel 1 G 6 4 185 SR Houston, Texas Fort Bend Austin HS Yanick Moreira y 2 C 6 11 220 SR Luanda, Angola South Plains College Sterling Brown basketball y 3 G 6 6 200 SO Maywood, Illinois Proviso East HS Keith Frazier 4 G 6 5 190 SO Dallas, Texas Kimball HS Markus Kennedy y 5 F 6 9 260 JR yes Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Brewster Academy Kevin Dunleavy 10 G 6 3 180 SR New Providence, New Jersey Delbarton School Nic Moore y 11 G 5 9 170 JR yes Winona Lake, Indiana Warsaw Community HS Crandall Head 13 G 6 4 180 SR yes Matteson, Illinois Rich South HS Cannen Cunnigham 15 C 6 10 225 SR Arlington, Texas Lamar HS Larry Brown Tim Jankovich Ulric Maligi K.
