2011 Walsh Cup

April 2022 2011 Walsh Cup Leinster 2011 Anthony Daly Liam Ryan Dublin 5 Kilkenny T. J. Reid Brian Cody 2010 2012 The 2011 Walsh Cup was a hurling competition played by the teams of Leinster GAA, a team from Connacht GAA and a team from Ulster GAA. The competition differs from the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship as it also features further education colleges from both Leinster and Connacht and the winning team does not progress to another tournament at All-Ireland level. The four losers of the first round enter the Walsh Shield. The winners of the Walsh Cup were Dublin, who defeated Kilkenny in the final, and the winners of the Walsh Shield were Offaly, who defeated Carlow in a replay, following the abandonment on the initial fixture in extra time.http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/championship/2011/0227/walshcup.html Dublin 2-17 Kilkenny 2-13 27 February 2011 RTÉ Sport Raidió Teilifís Éireann 29 May 2011 Walsh Cup First round15/16 January 2011 Quarter-finals23 January 2011 Semi-finals30 January 2011 Final27 February 2011 100px NUI Galway 0-22 Offaly 1-10 Laois 0-24 UCD 2-14 Antrim 3-12 Westmeath 2-11 DIT 2-18 Carlow 1-12 Kilkenny 3-16 NUI Galway 2-12 Laois 0-24 Wexford 2-14 Galway 0-20 DIT 2-12 Dublin 2-13 Antrim 0-12 Kilkenny 3-16 Laois 1-09 Galway 3-13 Dublin 1-20 Kilkenny 2-13 Dublin 2-17 First round 16 January 2011 Mullingar Westmeath 2-11 - 3-12 Antrim 16 January 2011 Carlow Carlow 1-12 - 2-18 DIT 16 January 2011 Rathdowney Laois 0-24 - 2-14 UCD 15 January 2011 Banagher Offaly 0-22 - 1-10 NUI Galway Quarter-finals 23 January 2011 Parnell Park, Dublin Dublin 2-13 - 0-12 Antrim 23 January 2011 Ballinasloe DIT 2-12 - 0-20 Galway 23 January 2011 Rathdowney Laois 0-24 - 2-14 Wexford 23 January 2011 Galway NUI Galway 2-12 - 3-16 Kilkenny Semi-finals 30 January 2011 Parnell Park, Dublin Dublin 1-20 - 3-13 Galway 30 January 2011 Galway Kilkenny 3-16 - 1-09 Laois Final 27 February 2011 Parnell Park, Dublin Dublin C Clinton 1-4, R O’Dwyer 0-6 (0-4f), D Plunkett 1-1, S Ryan 0-3, J McCaffrey (0-1 ‘65’), L Ryan, D O’Dwyer 0-1 each. 2-17 - 2-13 Kilkenny TJ Reid 1-6 (0-3f, 0-1 65), M Fennelly 1-0, A Fogarty 0-2, M Rice, J Fitzpatrick, J Mulhall, N Walsh, E Guinan 0-1 each.
