At the time, an owners' winter meeting and the annual draft of college players was held around the title game. A year into World War II for the United States and with much of the talent in or entering the military, the meeting focused on whether or not to operate the league in 1943; the decision was to continue, with the 1943 NFL draft postponed until April.https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=n6kWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=7iIEAAAAIBAJ&pg=3545%2C6604417 Milwaukee Journal Associated Press Pros adjourn parley December 14, 1942 6, part 2https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=CMRRAAAAIBAJ&sjid=BWoDAAAAIBAJ&pg=4780%2C3748745 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Associated Press Pro gridders vote to continue play December 15, 1942 18
