The election was the first one using 13 new wards created as a result of the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004, with each ward electing three or four councillors using the single transferable vote system form of proportional representation. The new wards replaced 43 single-member wards, which used the plurality (first past the post) system of election. The results saw the council remain under no overall control.https://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/vote2007/councils/html/qa.stm Aberdenn BBC News Online 7 April 2011 Election results Aberdeen City local election result 2007http://www.andrewteale.me.uk/pdf/2007-scotland.pdf Local Election Results 3rd May 2007 Local Election Archive Project 5 April 2011 Scottish Liberal Democrats 15 N/A N/A 5 34.9 26.9 20,845 8.5 Scottish National Party 12 N/A N/A 6 27.9 29.5 22,791 6.5 Scottish Labour Party 10 N/A N/A 3 23.3 24.6 19,003 0.4 Scottish Conservative Party 5 N/A N/A 2 11.6 14.1 10,889 1.2 Independent (politician) 1 N/A N/A 0 2.3 2.7 2,090 2.2 Scottish Green Party 0 N/A N/A 0 0.0 1.6 1,204 New Solidarity (Scotland) 0 N/A N/A 0 0.0 0.3 248 New Scottish Socialist Party 0 N/A N/A 0 0.0 0.3 218 1.4 British National Party 0 N/A N/A 0 0.0 0.1 81 New Ward results Airyhall/Broomhill/Garthdee -
