Nothing could split the sides in the first half but the Rangers, who finished runners-up for the second year in a row, could not contain the offensive strength of the Marlins, who had five players score 16 points or more. Cairns Taipans National Basketball League stars Aaron Grabau and Gary Boodnikoff netted 24 points and 23 points respectively to lead the Marlins with Grabau going on to be named Grand Final MVP. Future Australian Boomer Nathan Jawai also chipped in with a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double and proved to be the difference in the decisive third quarter.http://www.abc.net.au/news/2007-08-27/marlins-celebrate-national-title-win/651154 Marlins celebrate national title win ABC.net.au 27 August 2007 22 May 2015Cairns Marlins: 2007 ABA Men's Champions http://www.basketballwa.asn.au/fs_newsitem.asp?id=74179&orgID=1&Oname=BA&O1c=8&O10c=3 basketballwa.asn.au 26 August 2007 dead https://web.archive.org/web/20070829042712/http://www.basketballwa.asn.au/fs_newsitem.asp?id=74179&orgID=1&Oname=BA&O1c=8&O10c=3 29 August 2007 In the women's final, the Townsville Flames defeated the Hume City Broncos, 92–49.
