In November 2016, the NCAA infractions panel vacated all wins from Notre Dame's 2012 and 2013 seasons based on its finding that ineligible students had played for the 2012 and 2013 teams. A student athletic trainer committed academic misconduct, including completing coursework, for two players and provided impermissible academic extra benefits to six other players. Another player was found to have committed academic misconduct on his own in a total of eight courses.Adding Asterisks: NCAA orders Notre Dame to vacate 21 victories Mike Vorel, Tyler James South Bend Tribune November 23, 2016 C1, C3 https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-south-bend-tribune-adding-asterisks/203477576/ Newspapers.com The penalties were upheld after an appeal by Notre Dame.https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/ncaa-appeals-committee-upholds-vacation-notre-dame-wins NCAA appeals committee upholds vacation of Notre Dame wins NCAA.org - The Official Site of the NCAA www.ncaa.org dead https://web.archive.org/web/20180214015523/http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/ncaa-appeals-committee-upholds-vacation-notre-dame-wins 2018-02-14http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/careersearch?searchSport=MFB NCAA® Career Statistics
