The top three were promoted as a result of league reconstruction. Hamilton Academical were relegated after they were docked 15 points for breaking league rules: with the players in dispute with the club management over unpaid wages, the team failed to fulfil a fixture against Stenhousemuir on 1 April 2000 at Ochilview Park.Accies down as appeal fails, BBC News, 5 May 2000 Table main WDL 5 PR CLY Clyde ALL Alloa Athletic ROS Ross County ARB Arbroath PAR Partick Thistle STR Stranraer STI Stirling Albion STE Stenhousemuir QOS Queen of the South HAM Hamilton Academical 18 11 7 65 37 C,P 17 13 6 58 38 P 18 8 10 57 39 P 11 14 11 52 55 12 10 14 42 44 9 18 9 47 46 11 7 18 60 72 10 8 18 44 59 8 9 19 45 75 10 14 12 39 44 R -15 15 points deducted green1 Promotion to the First Division P P P red1 Relegation to the Third Division R 1) points; 2) goal difference; 3) number of goals scored. complete SPFL Archive Top scorers ScorerTeamGoalsScotland Brian Carrigan Clyde 19Scotland Ally Graham Stirling Albion 17Scotland Martin Cameron Alloa Athletic 16Scotland Colin McGlashan Arbroath 15Scotland John McQuade Stirling Albion 15Scotland Willie Irvine Alloa Athletic 13Scotland Stevie Mallan Queen of the South 13Scotland George Shaw Ross County 13Scotland Pat Keogh Clyde 11Scotland Paul McGrillen Stirling Albion 11 Attendance The average attendance for Division Two clubs for season 1999/00 are shown below: ClubAverageRoss County2,293Partick Thistle2,278Queen of the South1,153Clyde1,151Stirling Albion866Alloa Athletic825Arbroath809Hamilton Academical696Stenhousemuir685Stranraer469 References Category:Scottish Second Division seasons 2 3 Scot
