The 1976 Men's World Team Amateur Squash Championships was the fifth edition of the tournament. It was held at thirteen Midlands Clubs in England and took place from 4 to 13 May 1976. This was the first time in the tournament's history that a nation other than Australia became the champion. Great Britain, the runners-up for four consecutive tournaments dating back to 1967, finally became champions of the tournament.http://www.worldsquash.org/ws/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Mens-Team-Open.pdf Men's World Team Championship 1976 worldsquash.org dead https://web.archive.org/web/20160130090623/http://www.worldsquash.org/ws/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Mens-Team-Open.pdf 2016-01-30 https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/public-site/reference-online Times Archives Oxfordshire LibrariesSouth Africa were barred from the competition.http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article110807811 South Africa Barred Trove
